I dont know about all that technical stuff the other commenter's mentioned I just know that I have the stainless steel companion (same color) and I put a blaze orange 550 paracord wrap around the sheath...less likely to loose it. My daughter couldn't get her X-Mass tree to stand right in the base because It didnt have enough branches cut on the bottom and I didn't have my tree saw with me but I did have my Mora in the glove box and was able to get the job done batoning the branches, the look on her face when I had it all done was worth the price of the knife ! I love the thing.

Mora knives recommendations: Morakniv Bushcraft Black, is their best Bushcraft knife, (or the Classic no2 for more experienced users.) Their old style Companion heavy duty (HD) is a good budget bushcraft knife, but only recomended, for men with large to extra large hands size. Their old Mora 2000 or it's updated edition, the Kansbol, are both great for Camping.

@@AKOGR I didn't know they put 90 degree spine on either of their heavy duty knives spines! If they did it's ok, but I like to put my own , only on one pert of the spine, so I can use my other thumb. to make presission push cuts. Actually, I much prefer normal spine like all knives had , pre Youtoube marketing era. That 90 degree spine and hitting a knife on it's spine, to prove it will not break, both are KZbin marketing tricks. All these people that started it, sell either their knives, or any other knives, on their web pages or their Amazon stores etc. Batoning wood, is the most stupid thing, anybody can do, to his most precius everyday tool, which is his knife. Don't fall into that trap. Also, it has become, boring, when I see, all channels, all people, hit their knives, with a club (baton) you name it, to prove, that even a butter knife will take the beating. Thatt being said, they also never say the truth, that all the knives, will eventually break, if you keep doing that stupidity. No creativity to sell knives? Then go sell something else. It just became boring. enough with all the lies, and a life centered, only around money. Human don't need money to survive, they only need a knife and love. Not 100 knives, and lies, to make more money. Money destroes man. Too little money, is a problem. Too much money...is a huge problem!! Not good! Take care and you too,stay safe!

A "Companion" knife, should be full flat grind, because it's a knife designed for general use and only the full flat grind, works like that. A true Scandi knife (a knife with a bit convexed and polished edge bevel), works well only on wood working. The way scandi knives come from the factory, with "Flat scandi edge", makes them perform poorly, on any task, even wood carving, which should be best at. The reason is .that the way that flat scandi comes form factory, is a very weak edge, that will roll or chip, really easy, when you try to carve wood. Also that flat factory edge, makes things difficult, when you want to make feathersticks, or other tasks. However..The main reason, we have to sharpen any knife, is to remove the fatigued steel, and the poor flat edge, that factories put on the mass produced knives. For someone to judge, how his blade steel performs, should at least sharpen 3-5 times, before judging, because as I said, we have to remove the fatigued steel, that the really fast factory belt grinders, produce, when they put their edges on their knives. Manly Drugar with CPM 154 steel and Ka-Bar Becker BK16 in Carbon V steel, are 2 great examples, on how a Companion knife should be designed. Of course, both are highly respected and recommended knives.

@@AKOGR Sorry for my bad English, I corrected some mistakes I found reading it again. I just know, that nowdays, it's all about marketing, and stupid unesessary uses of knives, just to make them sell better on the internet market. I love knives, since I was a kid. Thank you for accepting my advice on knives. Ididn't do it, to sound like a wise guy. I just want to help people understand more, about them, because I see, aged people doing and saying wrong info about knives and their uses. Waiting for your next video! God bless!
