The ones who decide to change the original integrity of the knife, by changing the profile...and then blame the knife and claim it sucked before but never seem to have any evidence of that...and they're youtubers. lol lol. And oeople that get butthurt that it's better or may be seen as better than their more expensive knives. don't like it for the price? don't buy it and move on. If you want to chop and hammer and bash, get yourself an axe or a machete. Mora knives, and most knives to be honest, are designed for cutting, slicing, carving, and food preparation etc. Using it as an axe is like eating soup with a fork......stupid and very inefficient!

Thanks for the longterm review! I know we discussed the Mora Garberg when it came out and you did your first video. And to be honest although i am a great fan of the "old" Moras and always thought the new gimmicky bushcraft bandwagon line is not for me i had to try the Kansbol (which i got dirt cheap) and the Eldris which i got as a present. I like the Kansbol just as much as my Mora 2000 which is my oldest Mora. But i like the handle on the 2000 better so i see no point in the Kansbol. I was surprised with the Eldris. I love that knife and it actually sits in my jacket since roughly two years daily. It does a lot of edc tasks and is by far the best ferro rod striker i ever used. On to the Garberg... you said its very expensive... you can get them for like 55-65€ nowadays when they are on sale which is still a lot for a Mora but OK for a fulltang knife imho. I was very close to buying it numerous time because as an old Mora fanboy i cant deny i was curious about the knife. Luckily i got the chance to handle a friends one which had the factory secondary bevel and i didnt like it at all to be honest! It's a weak slicer with the factory edge and kinda spoils the concept of having a scandi grind?! In my opinion for a survival type of knife what the Garberg is supposed to also be, a scandi isnt the best grind anyways and if the steel isnt tough enough to take a beating with a scandi grind (like you demonstrated) the whole concept makes no sense to me. Too soft for scandi so you give it a secondary bevel which makes it a bad slicer... no point for me. To make a long story short the Moras i use the most are the Eldris as my EDC, and STILL a 510 or Classic 2 around my neck out in the woods, a 2000 for fishing and a Companion HD or Robust if i need a beater.

@@ulary Garberg? Excellent! I have it for already... 4 years and counting. I didn't crush rocks with it but also never spared from heavy tasks like splitting nutted logs, and it always did an outstanding job. However I think that one of the most important things about garberg is the grip. It's very comfortable, however this can be an individual case, but it's extremely robust and grippy. Actually the more you use it, the more grippy it gets, regardless form the conditions. If compared to micatra scales garberg's grip it's supreme. For me micarta is cold and terribly slippery in dry and cold conditions. Lately due to unquestioned, at least for me, being much more "elegant" than stainless I bought carbon version and I what can tell after three months of occasionally use, it gets nicks on the edge much faster than stainless. however this maybe not very trustworthy opinion because as said the use was very occasional. The real test will be in second half of May, when I'm gong to take it for three days fishing camp, where it will prepare wood for fire, will do some camping implements. Let's see after that in what condition it will return.

I have the Garberg also for a year now, I like it and hate it, I have noticed the steel is good, but for a thick scandi it doesn't work, it does not chip which is nice, but with very little batoning it shows light spots on the blade, and loses its razor sharpness very fast, now i put a light convex edge on it, so far that helps, but for how solid the knife is you want to use it harder then what the edge allows. Secondly, the way the edge swoops up toward the hand gives it more belly, but it really makes feather stick making uncomfortable. Other Moras are either straight or have a slight upsweep in the blade making it significantly better for carving and slicing tasks.
