Mora robust knife review...does it all!

The mora robust is just that, extremely robust. It is also lightweight (4.7oz with sheath), sharp out of the box, and easy to sharpen as well. The sheath works well for regular use. I have skinned deer, split kindling, made wood shaving for starting fires, sliced up food, as well as many other tasks Overall, this Mora has performed very well. I confidently rate this knife a 9/10 for the reasons mentioned.

As long as you keep the knife dry . And wipe it . It should be fun and leave the patina on because it protects the steel . If you look after it it will in turn look after you.

I cut the extra Tab off my sheath. I'm never going to clip the Knives together and I didn't like the extra piece sticking out. Otherwise I love this combination.

I did the same as soon as I got it. My shirt would catch that tab when I wanted to draw the knife

can you make the handle more flat and shorter and maybe even shorten the blade and make little cardboard sheath to make it small enough to fit in the pocket?

It's my favourite Mora out of the several I own. I batoned a load of fatwood with it today. Cleaned all the resin off it. then carved a spoon with it this evening. It's also cheap enough it's not going to be a big deal if I manage to break it.

Simple fix for rusting boil some apple cider vinegar or plain vinegar dip in vinegar for an hour and every once in awhile repeat no rust;)

It’s not a perfect knife. The one thing I quite dislike about it is the lack of a ricasso. While it might seem like a pretty petty thing to get upset over, it means that when you sharpen this knife, you but up against the handle material with your stones, and you can’t get that region of the blade sharp. 12CN27 is a stainless steel. Mora uses C100 in its carbon steel (non stainless) knives. Despite its drawbacks, it is a FANTASTIC knife and I love owning it. I don’t think that any other knife can beat the value for the price.

I take a file and add a sharpeners Choil to all my moras.. very easy and much better looking that a different grind at the base

Does it rust hard?

If you don’t put any kind of oil on it then it will form surface rust very quickly, surface rust can be wiped off with a scouring pad and some Rem oil though. It doesn’t inhibit function. If you do oil it then you won’t have any problems!

When you decide to replace that one for an unruined one, PLEASE PLEASE look up how to sharpen a scandi grind blade properly. The original bevel is the way it should be, not with the secondary bevel you ground into it. Regular knife sharpeners are NOT to be used, as they have the wrong angle. Use a stone or sandpaper. Ruining the cutting edge bevel like that has reduced your knife's sharpness, and diminished the knife's ability to be RAZOR sharp.

try to research more before doing review... you mentioned Carbon Steel 12C27N... btw, 12C27N is Sandvik STAINLESS STEEL.... Carbon Steel examples are 1075,1095, 440, etc... do research more on this...
