@fawnieee2 жыл бұрын
It can depend, for the most part therapy just made things worse for me. Not disavowing it, but there are more bad therapists than good ones. I've only had a few but most seemed concerned with indoctrinating me into their specific line of thinking and ideology and had little to no concern about the issues I was trying to deal with. I mean one tried to convince me the only way I could overcome my anxiety with men (due to my father SAing me as a child) was to forgive him and sit down and speak with him ... Completely disregarding the trauma he put me through and how being with him would trigger every bad thought and anxiety feelings. So yeah, I think it's a good idea in theory but most therapists either don't really care or try to force you into something you know won't work.

@@fawnieee well, it really depends, to me therapy has helped a lot, and I recommend everyone to do it at least once in their lives; however, I was apparently lucky to find a good one, bc a friend of mine also had a bad therapist and it only worsened her anxiety and trauma. I've always loved Clay's lesson about "love" to Orel so much, it's probably my favorite comedic scene of his. It's so myopic, yet said in such a sincere and accepting way, it perfectly encapsulates Clay's entire approach to being a husband and father. But it also subtly shows how much inner conflict he has, considering his own growing "love" (as narcissistic and dysfunctional as it is) for Stopframe.
