There is a certain type of fan who seemingly wants every insignificant detail to be interconnected and needs every loose end neatly tied up in a bow no matter how contrived it is. You'll see fans like this more often in franchises like the MCU or Star Wars, but they certainly existed in The Walking Dead fandom. These fans tended to speculate and theorize about things that frankly nobody else cared about, and Morales was a common figure in their dumb little theories because his fate was completely open-ended. A lot of people joined in on this speculation ironically (e.g. "Negan is Morales" jokes during season 6) which sort of turned Morales into a meme within the fandom. Eventually, the theories and memes got so redundant and annoying that I like to imagine the writers pulled this move simply to get people to shut up about Morales. I am only half-joking as I genuinely think that explanation could possibly be true.

@blistow35192 ай бұрын
Oh yeah I love the season for being what it is I think having him appear in multiple episodes like some people wanted would be pointless and takeaway from the concept It shows off how the apocalypse has broken 3 different men Morales a man with nothing who’s doing what he’s told as he literally has nothing else. He’s not fitting really for anyone anymore he’s just broke Rick the man who’s unable to do it. I don’t think Rick had it in him to kill someone he knew as a friend. Like Rick barely kills people he knows the only one I can think of is Shane (an act that broke him and he’s probably reliving as he looks at Morales) And finally Daryl a man who will do anything he will kill someone he knows without hesitation and feel nothing afterwards at this point in the story Daryl is also a very broken man. He’s has basically nothing left but should he lose it he will keep going, he’ll when Carl dies he’s saddened but he’s able to just keep going he’s also an unfeeling machine (it takes Rick “dying” and Michonne leaving before he can start opening up and caring again at which point he completely flips and almost cares to much that it becomes a weakness) In one scene the show is able to show 3 different ways this world has broken people

@@breakingmiraino one in the TWD universe is good well maybe Hershel and Eastman, Judith, RJ and Tyreese but Rick and CO were villains to other groups. We were just conditioned to root for Rick and co from the moment we meet Rick and the rest of the group.

He left cause he knew Rick couldn’t protect his family and they still got killed anyway terrible decision

One thing I miss in the earlier season was that the shots weren’t as cinematic looking. It felt raw and real. After S5 things started looking too color graded with cinematic shots to really hold onto that feeling of real people in a real apocalypse

He is acting like it's Rick's fault he made a stupid decision.

If I had a nickle for every member of the Atlanta group, eventually sided with the enemy, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Having him return made no sense, a l lot of people didn't remember him, he did nothing to move the plot along. Had he been around more than 3 minutes maybe the writers could've done something with him. What a waste.

Season 8 sucks fat balls and I remember hating this scene when it came out but rewatching it I kinda like how cold it is that Daryl just takes him out and doesn’t care about the prior connection lol

Wait Morales was heading west to Birmingham from Atlanta, the Saviors operate in northern Virginia. How did he get so far off course to end up multiple states off from where he was intending to go.

I believe that after Morales lost his family, he didn't stay in one place and kept moving until a group of saviours found him and brought him to Negan.

I think Morales turning evil is because since hes not exactly a main character that they need to let us know what he has been up to and close the book on his chapter by killing him off for being a traitorous broken idiot that I am sure nobody will miss after what he has become

People say that morales should have had ricks gun from atlanta, but i think if it was like that this scene would have ended differently, mayve with rick talking him down saying he has had his gun the whole time and morales lowers his guard and rick tells him to run away and to not look back, could maybe hace continued morales' story in ftwd
