Hey, so i have a question concerning Socrates‘ Dilemma I perfectly Unterstand and fully agree to the First Part of the dilemma. However, it is still Not clear to me how the second Part of the dilemma poses a problem to the theistic view You say that if actions are inherently good or bad, and god just commands them to us because they Are right or forbids them for us because they Are wring, there are Independent reasons why these actions are right or wrong. So far, so good. Then you continue by saying that anybody can look at the independent reasoning why actions are right or wrong and this would contradict the theist view This, however, is still not clear to me. Wouldn‘t a theist just say that it is because only god is capable of fully understanding the independent reasons, That because only god has acces to those independent reasons, this does Not contradict their view, that morality still depends on religion, because only the god of religions can tell us mere humans what actions are right or wrong? Not anybody has acces to it for only god is capable to understand the independent reasons. Thus, morality still dépends on god telling us what‘s right and wrong. Thus, morality is based on god, which means morality is based on religion.
