This album isn't as bad as some have made it out to be. Some songs are good and some are not. And this comes from a Morbid Angel fan for 30 years. I am not one of these new fans who think Gateways is their best album. It's not even top 5 by the way. And I saw Morbid live 4 or 5 times

I too am a fan of 30 years and I like this album more than kingdoms disdained. For me , covenant is number 1 and id put formulas at number 2 for guitar solos and blessed are the sick and domination at a near tie for number 2 in songwriting.i prefer memorable songs over complex arrangements any day . I really like gateways for it's atmosphere and I feel like it has a few of Trey's best solos,like Summoning redemption, and secured limitations.

I really like it, and I love the album as whole, of which I've just purchased a new copy because the old one got worn out. I know I'm in the minority, but for those like me who "get" what these guys were doing on this album, the record is a gem, one of my favorite from MA, with maybe B & D.
