I think it is. Bands like Meshuggah, Cannibal do that, all the drums first as demo/computer arrangements for guitars to follow, then do the real drums last. On close listen, the crash cymbals ring on the strike but the sound fades away pretty fast unnaturally. Listen to the very last crash strike, it just comes to halt instantly way too fast. I say it's sampled.
