@@slicecuts21 Nah, Dave is tons better than Steve. Steve has boring, typical, death metal vocals. Dave still has some of the best vocals in Death Metal. And Dave contributed a lot more than you give him credit for. Trey did the riffs, but you can tell Dave did came up with the melody parts to go with the lyrics. Morbid's music is still technically amazing without Dave, but the songs completely lack any catchiness to them. Dave made those songs memorable. I find Steve's album's unmemorable. Dave's new band Vltimas is better than the last Morbid Angel album. Even a guy who loves Formulas Fatal to the Flesh told me it was forgettable.

Scorched Earth Tony Norman has been the only one who was been in the same tone and level of Erik Rutan, anyways Erik Rutan is a great guitar player, his tone is so fucking bad ass and his soling is melodic and organized but at the same time brutal. This guitar player of this lineup of Morbid, he is lower level, just check how he plays his part of his solos of other songs, he doesnt do it, he just plays with the wammy bar. The second guitar player in his solos in Morbid Angel was always the melodic guy, Trey is the chaos tapping wah wah wammy bar madness but Erik was the melodic organized soling guy.

Dave, Pete, Trey....that's the morbid I love......morbid isn't morbid without that core lineup...(ps I miss Richard too, met him in Brisbane early 90s, and have his autograph)....but yeah....Dave is an awesome metal vocalist..... .I even play Illud quite a lot to be honest.......the main belters are some of the catchiest they've written to me....of course the electronica tracks let them down and ruined the album for some people ....not me....I just pretend it's a shorter album and skip the tunes that don't strike me.....
