This is the most accurate description of Obatala. My son has cerebral palsy and I've been told that my son was OBATALAS child. No real explanation. Thank you for that explanation and letting me know about his needs being met. I worry a lot about what will happen to him after I'm gone. I want to know that he will be taken care of.

Neimark Ibae t’Orun 2021 initiated to Obatala before meeting Afolabi Epega Nigerian scientist, Ifa priest & Omo Obatala He was initiated in his grandfather’s lineage along with Awo John Fa ‘gbemi ibae t’ Orun from CA. John, Omo Ogun was one of the first African Americans to study & receive initiation n Africa. He spent months @ a time in Nigeria. He was fluent in the Yoruba language, knew the corpus of Odu Ifa without having to look them up. He was musician. Radio announcer in th eatly days, scholar & XFootball player..He assisted many w/music careers as well as other fields of interest. Quiet, most kind gentle person. Niemark and his wife received many of Epega’s books, translated documents and ‘efectos’ from Epega. The grandfather also gave John the family name when he was initiated. After some years he dropped the family’s last name He and his adopted brother drifted apart. Afooabi eS dodo a rather a person. Full of laughter.

I am recently rediscovering how great Obatala is. My mother is Orishanla (the 1st Orisaha Obatala) and my father Oduduwa a type or younger brother of Obatala. Both Orisha funfun and my Babalawo is Obatala. Asé, Ifa is a cheat code and this world where Fba are hated you crazy not to, Asé.

You can have them as pets but not to be offered to Obatala as ebo (appeasement). I know a lot of Olorisha back home in Nigeria that own dogs.

Why are you insulting the Spirit of Obatala?? That is so disrespectful. Gordo or No! He still has the Ache, Are of Orunmila. Do U realize that though this is written, Orunmila deciphers every word. Iwa Pele- One of ‘good character’ does not show ill- training, ignorance in a public platform. How do you know his health is on the floor. Are you a diviner, or just a commentator who wishes to he heard. Los Cubanos (Elders, not this new breed of observers/initiates) would have given you a ‘multa’. @@OjelolaFasakin Ha, that is very interesting to know. I'm wondering now....could it be that Obatala is owner of my head? Could that be why Olunmila speak directly to me and not thru anybody else? When I consulted ifa divination years ago (my first time) during times of great trouble, the baba told me Orunmila is directly talking to me, and said that normally he does not "talk" (he goes thru other orishas to send the message of ifa). Baba mentioned at the time that the spirits are very interested in me but I never got initiated. Now, more than a decade and half later I'm encountering serious obstacles in life where everything is going wrong and it's something completely out of my hands. So immediately I went back to consult ifa. This baba (different baba because I lost touch with previous) tells me that everything is about Obatala in this divination. He said Obatala was very pleased I dressed in all white to the divination. I am told to wear white, if not all white but in light colors and follow strict taboos for three months of not wearing anything that has black or red in it. (And almost all my clothing last several years were black, plus I have many red clothes too including some that have both red & black!) So I'm having to do a major wardrobe overhaul right now.... I'm wondering now if I should seriously consider getting initiated and finding out for sure who owns my head, etc and follow my spirit guides instruction to get out of the repeated rut I find myself in, to better my life. I sure seems unable to do it on my own. Only thing, you mentioned something about no offering of dog to Obatala. I wonder if Obatala owner of my head andI get initiated, if I can ever own a dog again since I love dogs (ToT)

I’m a child of OBÀTÁLÁ and I have a chemical em balance I’m healing mentally now but yes OBÀTÁLÁ does not like his children smoking and drinking palm wine only palm wine the ones who have birth defects and deformities those are his children
