📖 In Genesis 1:8, the word "heaven" (shamayim in the Hebrew) is the name given to a vaulted domed structure separating waters above from waters below it. The scriptures speak of a series of seven (7) of these structures, with the phrase "The Most High God" also being a literal, directional description of His physical place in the highest heaven. • Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. • Testament of Levi 2:9 And I said to the angel, Why is this so? Yes, the Sabbath begins as the sun sets on Friday and continues until Saturday at sunset. Genesis 1 v 5 indicates evening as the start of day. Genesis 2 v 1-3, God blessed the 7th day and sanctified it. Mark 2 v 27, 28, the Sabbath made for mankind. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. 🙏❤️🕊

@Larren Cole, is it your view that Sabbath Keeping and/or Festival Keeping necessary for "Salvation"? Or just a "nice to have"?

Festival Keeping was a remedy for sin before Jesus came. If you were in OT times and you wanted forgiveness of a sin, you would have to participate in the feast day festivals which included sacrificing an animal. Once Jesus came and died for our sins, the festivals ceased to be a requirement. But the weekly sabbath of the 4th commandment did not cease. It was given to Adam and Eve before they sinned. Keeping the Sabbath doesn't give us salvation, but disobeying a commandment of God on purpose or willfully is what causes us to be lost. Thats how Adam and Eve fell, by disobedience. Jesus provides forgiveness to a repentant sinner who confesses his sin, but He also asks us to repent from sin. The first words out of His mouth when He began to preach were, "Repent, and believe the Gospel" Mark 1:15 Repent means, stop sinning.

​@@WoundedEgo Friend, I hope that this is not just a post searching for an argument. I hope not because there are far too many comments I receive of that nature. I don't mind providing bible answers but I don't have time to engage in debates. The Sabbath was instituted in Gen 2 before there was sin. It was given to mankind as a gift of rest. Moses didn't record the words, "I command you Adam and Eve to rest every 7th day" in Genesis 2, but he did in Ex 20. He recorded God saying "Remember the Sabbath". Remember is a word that pointed back to Genesis 2 when the Sabbath was instituted. Before Ex 20, where the 10 commandments were recorded, God said "how long will you refuse to obey my laws" in Ex 16 when one person went out to collect Manna on the Sabbath day. Clearly there was sabbath before Ex 20. I think we can see the implied ramifications of the Sabbath command in Gen 2. It was a day of rest and celebration of Creation for Adam and Eve. "The Sabbath was made for Man" said Jesus: That statement refers to Adam's time. The word "Made" is linked to the word creation. Adam was the man Created. I hope that helps. Please though, if you're not interested in learning or you just want to debate, let me know because I really don't have time for that. We run a world wide bible school with people sincerely looking for truth. I hope thats the position you're in. Forgive me for being so blunt.

I grew up on a farm that sold chicken eggs. There just as many eggs laid on Saturday as there were on any other day of the week. Chickens don't keep the Sabbath any more that pregnant women don't have babies on Saturday.

Don Emerson's chickens didn't lay eggs on Saturday. Neither did the Mother Earth News chicken. Other reports from Chicken owner have said the same. While most chickens may lay eggs everyday, that doesn't mean that some to not lay on Saturday. I wouldn't use the phrase "Keep the Sabbath" for these chickens either. Its just that they stop laying on Saturday. Why?

The idea that they don't do it on Saturday is little more than nonsense based on happy coincidence. The Sabbath rest is Jesus Christ not a day in the week.

The Catholic Encyclopedia Vol 11 pages 1068. " the sacred day of rest on the 7th day ( the Sabbath) Days were reckoned from morning to morning. Following the reign of King Josiah (c 640 to 609) and especially after the Babylonian exile a number of significant and enduring changes occurred in the Israelite calendar showing their time. How can you believe what the Catholic encyclopedia says as they themselves were the ones who changed the Sabbath during Roman emperor Constantine’s time in 321 A.D. The Bible itself states we are to keep the seventh day Sabbath, as it is holy, and God rested on it himself after creation, the Sabbath was established at this point and was made for all mankind. The beast power thinks to change times and laws and will in these last days, persecute the true Christians that keep God‘s holy Sabbath Saturday. A Sunday law is soon to be put in force against god’s law, but this will result in the seven last plagues of revelation.

Findmylostsheep. Tell the Jews that the day starts in the morning . The END of the Sabbath DAY was in yhe evening which means the START of the Sabbath must have started in the evening .. Their Sabbath always starts on Friday evening till Saturday evening . They did not make this up but it came from their history. When Paul spoke aboutbtheb1st fay of the week he was refering the Roman time

Jesus said, "The Sabbath was made for Man" Mark 2:27. That word "Sabbath" comes from the Greek word, "Anthropos" which means Mankind. (not just Jews)

The Bible teaches the Sabbath. Not me! The devil hates the Sabbath because it was a gift from God to mankind. The Sabbath is one of God's 10 commandments and its such a wonderful gift of rest for us if we keep it holy as He commanded. Try it, you'll like it. The devil hates it, so it must be good for us.
