Especially some lorry drivers who don't leave big enough of a space between and you get hit by the wind or if you have bad luck stones. Summer annoying thing is horseflies though. This year they're everywhere thanks to a heatwave (annoying) so any kind of exercise outside is a frigging race. I was supposed to have a nice walk which ended up being a bloody sprint because of the amount of mosquitoes and horseflies. Which was especially annoying since it was 27C and humid, so... awful "walk". I counted 17 horselfy bites after 45min outside one day so... Surprisingly I've started to bike this year since it's too fast for the bugs. =D

I'm going to rant now...so maybe stick on the kettle and make yourself a cup of tea, which you can then spit out cartoon style, as I call out some of our fellow runners. OK, here goes, what really gets me annoyed about other runners, are the (deep breath Donal) people who rock up 5 mins before the off at a Parkrun. They don't bother being there on time for the Race directors brief, try every week for a PB and so get annoyed at slower runners near the start. Finish, get their token scanned and head straight for their cars and f*** off with out a thank you to anyone. We all know and saw them, they've never volunteered and so miss out on craic at set up and afterwards. Honestly folks, if you've never volunteered at your local Parkrun make a point of doing so when they return. Volunteer say once every 10 runs, you'll thank me once you've done Marshall or Tail walker and witnessed the true Parkrun spirit in action. I really miss Parkruns, the nervous energy of the newbies, the hesitant but proud hand raised in reply to "any milestoners here today", smiling as you watch a parent 'let' their kid beat them and seeing that extra spurt in responce to your shout of encouragement at the end. Actually now I think about it, maybe I should feel sorry for those runners who just turn up, run and leave; look at all that they miss out on. But seriously folks, do volunteer at your local Parkrun. Now wipe up that tea and have an extra biscuit next time, you're a runner afterall and it's carb loading.

Hmmmmm ...... I have never done a Parkrun. I bought the armband last year, just before closedown. I live in Denmark, where Parkrun started up again last month. Still haven't been there ..... 😖 .... My problem is, that I live quite far away from my nearest Parkrun. To be there at nine o'clock, I have to get up at 6 and spend more than 1½ hour on public transport. I really want to go - but I think it is very unlikely that I will ever volunteer. Well, at least not if it means that I'll have to come earlier. I would feel very uncomfortable if anyone should criticise me for this. But I would love to be sociable after the run ..... if I ever make it to Parkrun. Usually I get up around 9. So getting up at 6 to go to Parkrun ..... not se easy. 😁
@abizern6653 жыл бұрын
The first time I volunteered, I was the tail walker. It really humbles you to see the parkrun spirit when somebody just does their best to get around and how happy they are when they finish in whatever time. To see the encouragement of the marshalls towards the runners and especially the last runner. I never felt bad about not getting a best time after experiencing that, and I still haven't broken 30 minutes.

Groups of runners that take up the whole path when your going the other way and don’t move over a bit or go into single file causing you to run off the path.

Runners/walkers /cyclists coming the other way on your side of the path. Here in France we actually have direction signs on paths but what a waste of paint, if there's one thing the French hate, is being told what side they should be on. Imagine if cars did the same, oh wait, did I mention I live in France 🤣

Can I add one of the most annoying things on a run are people on electric scooters who insist on riding on the pavement at break neck speeds pushing us runners into the road...
@ricecakepower3 жыл бұрын
Omg definitely! I nearly got ran over a few weeks ago and it's illegal for them to be on the path in the UK!

Some annoying things I actually do: 1. Overtake a MTB cyclist on a hill and smile back :-) 2. Running super-close to the runners I know, practically drafting on them. And... that annoying runner in a group that HAVE TO be half leg ahead of you

The only “slow runner” that annoy me are the ones that over estimate their race time…or perhaps I’m the annoying one who always assumes I’ll be slower than I am 🤣
@mattiasbystedt13323 жыл бұрын
by the comments I read, runners in the uk can be a pretty annoying group of people for ordinary pedestrians who wish to carry out their business without being hit on the shoulder or run on top of.

Reminded of this after watching your last video, people who don’t remove all the air from their water bladder and listening to it sloshing for the whole run
