I think I owe you a huge thanks because your last video just appeared in my recommendations a few days back, and it got me thinking about art fight, so I looked into it more and eventually made an account and now I’m kicking myself for not joining sooner. If not for your video I might not have made an artfight account at all!

Ay! I'm actually really happy that I helped in some way!! Glad that you joined!! It's great to have ya! 😸💛

i made my charactor info colorfull and made the text bigger i also chanced the font of the text. in doing so i made the text seem shorter and easier to read. im used to doing this with school notes so i new it would work to some extent :D

This is so helpful!! I had no idea that artfight 'hitlists' were a thing, but i'm definitley going to make one and post it into my friend's small art communities! Thank you so much for making this video, and the previous one! They have both been very very informative!!

Ayy!! Hitlists are definitely pretty cool!! 🙏 But, of course! It makes me incredibly happy that I was able to spread helpful info for those who need it!! 🫡💕💕

On the other hand, I personally would really like for there to be at least a few lines of text, at least if the reference sheet is not already detailing things like setting, their background, relations to other characters, personality and tidbits. Having just a picture of a character, especially if there's not even a do/don't list or such makes it very hard for me to both come up with and know weather it's okay to draw a character in a more interesting environment. (I agree on the extremely long texts though. Half a page to a page is ideal IMO but I also tend to like reading about other people's critters.) Also, I find explicit dos in general to be very helpful.
@quryanix6 ай бұрын
Exactly my thoughts!! I do not like huge blocks of text because I really cannot read it; but I would absolutely appreciate if there was enough text about the character. It's definitely hard to really think of much to do with said character if it has literally NOTHING about it 😅 I wouldn't really care about blocks of texts, but being it's artfight, a lot of people usually don't have time to read a lot of someone's character. But with the do's, it kind of scares me away from doing anything cool if there's no do's, OR dont's 🤷♀️ I really don't wanna be yelled at for something I didn't know wasn't okay lol 🥲👍

@@quryanix If I may ask a question from someone who tends to worldbuild and ends up with way too much info, all of which either absolutely is or could be relevant. Is it easier if info is presented in additional pictures with relevant doodles? Like, say, I want to add a bit additional info on what kind of magic a character can do, would it be more helpful/less overwhelming to have a page of examples and some text vs. a description? Also, how much do paragraph breaks and different formats help? I always like to try and use breaks and sometimes bulletpoint lists to make things easier to read/create distinct thematic sections. (ie: have a broad character bio; add a list with a few notes on physical aspects that may not be clear; do a disability 101.) RE: the dos. Yea, the lack of any info is the worst, but I'm also happy if there's specific dos so I know that the creator didn't just forget/didn't think it'd come up. (This may also be influenced by my experiences having people constantly ignore or forget things about my characters. Sometimes to the extreme of basically only using the right colours and ignoring everything else. Never thought I'd explicitly have to add "Do not draw my furry dragon who is drawn as having fur and has a colour labelled fur with scales". "No I did not forget the claws. They are retractable.", but what do you know.)
@quryanix6 ай бұрын
@teaartist6455 Yes!! At least I think so. I am willing to read plenty of info as long as there's some occasional image reference/doodles. In a way, it's kind of like how I can't read normal books but I can read comics; one just has text and the other has pictures along with text. I feel like it's also easier to include some doodles to demonstrate! I'm someone who struggles with learning unless there's a visual reference of what's happening or how things work! With the paragraph breaks and different formats; they do help imo! Especially if paragraph breaks are used when the paragraph starts to slightly lead onto something different. Even if not for that reason; they still help to give my mind a break and not get lost of where I was reading. Bulletpoint lists do make it easier as well! 🙏 The do's; exactly! With my dont's or details I assume others would spot/know, even if I feel like the chance of it happening is slim... I still add it there, just in case. I can understand missing small things like colored nails, small jewelry, or small and sometimes hard-to-spot features like moles... but having someone draw the character that differently? I feel like anyone who does that really does not care. Mistakes can happen, but that's more than just a mistake, especially if it's obvious. 😅

Wonderful video with some beautiful art along side To add onto the Dos and Donts, I highly suggest just to make it easier for artist, separate Horns, Tails, Accessories etc in a ref sheet OR mention them in your character permissions. It’s easier on artist especially for complicated designs to just break it down and prevents misinterpretation (at least for me)

Yo! Thank you very much!! 🥹💕💕 And YESS!! I 100% agree with ya there! I definitely find it so much easier when artfighters can do that!! It's definitely quicker to draw when I have the exact idea of where things are or what things are!! 👍

Ooh! Not weird at all imo!! That's a huge compliment to me. It makes me very happy about it, I've been trying to lean towards having a more calming voice in my videos, so it makes me super grateful you think that way of it!! 🥹💕 But thank you very much!! I'll definitely try my best to get ya back if you happen to attack me! 🫡💛

as soon as possible! people tend to bookmark a lot of characters they might want to draw ahead of time so they don't have to spend as much time looking for characters when they could be drawing

If you intend to revenge art, trust me, you might not get to that hit list. Making artfight videos kinda puts a target on your back. 🫠
@quryanix6 ай бұрын
I was kind of thinking on that, but I'm hoping it'll give me a challenge!! I'm honestly not sure how much I'll get, which is kinda scary 😅 but I'm up to draw plenty of attacks/revenges this year! I'm looking to beat my 130+ attacks from last year 😸!! But YOO!! I'm actually quite happy to see ya here! You were one of my main inspirations of making my own artfight videos!! So cool to have ya here 🥹💛 !!
@Alreadyish6 ай бұрын
@quryanix Oh man, that's exactly what I said to myself last year! I couldn't get to any of my bookmarks until the very end of the event. ;v; It's definitely doable that 130+! Kick some art butt!! 👊 *not me refreshing artfight in the search bar every 10 mins on youtube*😅 I LOVE when others talk about this event!! There's just not a lot out there outside of tutorials. Glad to have more viewpoints on artfight from others! Thank you for your wonderful videos on artfight. More of something to draw to for sure!! 🥰
@quryanix6 ай бұрын
@Alreadyish I think my bookmarks are definitely what I'm worried for most, I have so many bookmarks I want to draw so I'll have to see how things go this year 😅 I'm pretty determined, though!! But I do agree with ya!! When I first joined a couple years ago, there weren't really any tips out there. So, I had to learn things from experience, which can be quite hard sometimes!! That's the main reason why I made my own artfight videos.. ya never know when someone could use the tips! Yo!! Of course! I'm definitely trying my best to provide things for other artfighters!! 😸💛💛
