I've participated in arfight for 6 years. I love how it challenges me to draw a variety of character designs. Plus I've found my art has improved significantly each year I participate. Plus I love seeing all the different forms/styles of art people create with.

@@PerryPictures No problem and thank you! when I first joined artfight I had a hard time navigating the website and then I stumbled across your video and it genuinely helped me a lot, so I had it in the back of my mind since then 💕

This year is my 5th year of artfight, and can attest to all thease tips being great!! Luckly last two years the site has been doing better at not absolutely dying the first week. Still always saving refs is good.

and also save their username and character ID code, so if the site is slow you don't have to load up the character page for that info when you submit the piece.

​@@starburst740yeah! You can join the event at any time before or during it. The teams being announced soon does not affect your participation at all and you can always choose/change your team during the event. Every year the official artfight channel does a small video stream where they announce the teams for the year, so for many people it's more of a tradition to follow that

No problem! And don't worry the event usually is pretty chill, might feel a bit overwhelming the first few days due to the website navigation being a bit confusing at first and stuff, but it usually calms down afterwards! Just remember to enjoy yourself and take breaks if you need some and everything should be fine :D

You haven't exactly explained the game 😭?? I get how you can attack and what not but what's the point? You mentioned there getting points and there being 2 big teams? Do you just attack as much as possible so you get points for your team and the team with the most points wins? Do revenge attacks give more points? What's the defense for?

Ahh sorry 😭, at the start of the event players get divided into two big teams, the main point is to bring in points for your team by attacking, the team with the most points by the end wins the game yes. Revenge attacks in themselves don't give more points (aka: player attacks you once, you attack them back once) but revenge chains does (the more two players revenge eachother the more points they get) defence is just a term that refers to the artwork you recieve from other people (basically when other people attack you) Sorry for the confusion, I should have worded myself better, this is the first time I'm doing a video like this ^^

Joining for the first time this year! A little nervous, but excited too. Should I post my character now or wait a bit closer to the start date? :o

I don't really know, but I would suggest to spread your character posting (so don't post them all at the same time), many people upload their characters closer to the startdate but at that point the "new character" section updates very quickly so your characters can be buried under others pretty fast, from the other hand many people start to bookmark characters closer to the start as well so it's hard to say what's best. One thing I can recommend is to make the thumbnail for your characters interesting so people spot them faster (can be a really nice drawing of them you did earlier or a really cool sketch etc.)

Artfight has a lot of artists on different skill level, + some people may find your characters to be very appealing so I would say not to be so afraid of not receiving attacks:D Filling out hitlists might also make your chances of getting attacked higher as well ^^ Attacking people who revenge back also is a good idea if you are worried about not getting attacked
