Well . . . I was more annoying and socially awkward if anything. Definitely a bit clingy while still being more quiet and serious at times. Age 13,14, and 15 I was all over the place but I was never edgy. But it appears I did occasionally scare people with what I was capable of if anyone ever crossed me the wrong way too badly. Like one time a kid twice my size and weight was stupid enough to body slam me and try choking me on the bus I but him. That got everyone that shut up about me real freaking quick other then "Dude, he got that one guy expelled and the police had to get called in, this kid is NOT putting up with this crud anymore, he can handle himself scarily well when he has to. Don't make him have to." From then on I settled in to being more of a quote kid. Only I wasn't just the "the quite kid", I was "That" quite kid. And every so often, increasingly more as I got older and wiser, I KNEW exactly what to say and do and how to say and do it. I ended up shocking a lot of kids in my middle and highschool days going from one minute like "THIS is the same guy who needs out about Pokémon and makes stupid bad puns?" to "Oh now I know why. I think I'll remember that the next time I interact with him. Cause that's the way I'd prefer to interact with him. Otherwise . . ." Funnily enough I've always sorta been able to poke fun at those who were the edgy angstey 14 year old type and call them out on their bluff to which they had no response that wasn't a dead giveaway that I was right. And yet I was also the last one picked and the one everyone would groan at for being placed with me in regards to having to do anything. And then I'd give them a dead cold to expression and they'd suddenly shut up and quite complaining because I was beginning to lose all tolerance for the way everyone reacted towards me and knew all to well what they thought of me. And then some of them would realize that I was PAINFULLY self aware of this constant negative image of weakness or unworthiness I had begun to develop and believe MYSELF and maybe I guilt tripped some of them or maybe I helped them realize "I'm just completely alone and desperate for any companionship and trying to make it to the next grade alive without even having my sanity intact. I have up on myself a long time ago and yet I'm stuck here. With the likes of y o u, yes I know I clearly don't have it nearly as good as you do and I'd like to stop being constantly reminded of how much better you are then me." And sure enough I'd usually be able to end up mellowing them out a long with them in return towards me, and we'd develop some form of mutual understanding and respect for each other and admission to each other's own struggles that we admired each other for being able to handle. Even if we ourselves didn't think we were actually making much progress. It was a very v e r y long and exhausting period of self discovery and self reflection. And one which I actually don't think ever really stopped. Just changed into something else. I don't actually know if that period is over. And I honestly don't think it ever will be. But I now feel like that's okay. Maybe I'll never know, but maybe I don't need to. The one thing I'll always continue to gain is experience. And through it I'll eventually get to becoming the person who I really want to be. In that sense, I guess that's why I don't feel that different from being a teenager. And I sometimes still feel like one even though I'm now 24. But the difference is that now I know who I am. And that I'll get to the point I want in my life someday. And I know I'll find a partner I love and will be together with forever along the way. And I'll enjoy this journey.

USUM the character that got Cyrus of all people to question his evil plans was Rotom Dex. The dude sees all life as worthless and inherently flawed because they have emotions that make them unpredictable. Assuming every protagonist is 10 years old is a leftover from the Anime. Ash being 10 had a lasting impact on everyone who played the games after that. But in reality, of course, the MCs of the pokemon based around school would be around freshman age. Of course, the trainers in the big city hanging out in cafes would be older teens. The Black and White protagonists being anything under 16 would be weird. Red and Blue also barely change when they grow up so its safe to assume they aren't 10 either

The thing about pokemon too is it's also made in a way that ages can really be up to interpretation! They really want you to be able to insert yourself as the player and so, at least with ScarVio, it's pretty plausible to see all the Paldea and Blueberry Academy friends as young adults or as teens! It's honestly whatever you prefer and I really love that it allows you as a person to immerse yourself in the world with how you interpret characters ages and behaviors and motivations. I swear a long time ago I read something that they like to keep the ages vague so players can do this and I really enjoy that!
