I decided to have my own try at a team for Magnolia that is a bit more geared towards her personality. Its mostly Pokemon that can be found on Route 2, since she can catch them without even needing to leave her garden (and she obviously doesn't get out much). 1. Orbeetle I think Orbeetle would work really well as a Gigantamax ace for her. It's said to be a very intelligent Pokémon, it's found outside her home and isn't used by any other major Trainer. 2. Corviknight. She has it on her cane and is found on route 2. Nuff said. 3. Milotic Can be fished up in the lake next to her house and it feels like a better fit for her than Drednaw or Gyarados. 4. Eldegoss Magnolia seems to be fond of gardening if the outside of her house is anything to go by. Seems fitting that she's have the regional "Old Lady Flower" Pokémon. 5. Polteageist "There are other things that are worth knowing about, too, you know. Like how many different types of tea there are!" If Professor Magnolia could only have one Pokémon, it would be Polteageist. She even has one in the Manga" 6. Obstagoon Can be caught on route 2, and there is an area across the lake from her home that is full of Zigzagoon and a wild Obstagoon. It doesn't really fit her personality as we see it, but I like the implication that Magnolia had a wild streak when she was younger and is secretly a massive punk rocker.

Ik that Laventon was part of Legends Arceus, and this video came out a year ago, but I thought I'd take a crack at it. 1&2: the 2 starters you didn't pick fully evolved. 3&4: Weavile and Unovan Braviary (because studying other forms would be good for a Pokedex) 5&6: Froslass and Gallade (the branching evolutions would be harder for Laventon to study, so he would just already catch them. )

@@therealcanada12 First off, their ace would be the either the box legendary, or if that's too op, Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant, respectively. For Sada, I feel like a fossil team would fit. Mainly Tyrantrum, Aerodactyl, Craydilly, and either Dracovish and Arctozolt, or Arctovish and Dracozolt. Gives her team more diversity than just rocks. For Turo, I think Magnezone, Klingklang, Probopass, Porygon-Z, and Beheeyem is my best bet. The futuristic feel shines in this team, and since Sada had 3 rock types, I gave Turo 3 steel types. No matter who you fight, bring a ground type.

Rowan was likely a champion at some point, Oak(who as you know was supposed to be the secret final boss and a champion as well) learned from him and Cynthia received her pokedex and likely her starter from him as well, plus he's present in the Hall of Fame alongside Cynthia when you beat her just like Oak was in Gen 1 when you beat Blue and as we know the Hall of Fame is stated in R/S/E to be reserved to the Champions only So the likely timeline would be something like this: -Rowan the Sinnoh Champion and pokemon researcher at some point went to Kanto to learn about the evolutions there -He found the young aspiring trainer Sam Oak and taught him for a bit -Oak became the Kanto Champion after beating Agatha and later retired to make the kantonian Pokedex Project -This inspired Rowan to give one pokedex to his new promising student Cynthia in order to update the Sinnoh's dex -Cynthia did so and eventually grew up to become the trainer we know her to be, beat her former teacher and becoming the new champion in the process -Being the new Champion made Cynthia too busy so she eventually had to ditch her pokedex, but she still keeps her archeological research during her free time as that is her passion -Rowan retired as a full time pokemon professor becoming most important specialist on pokemon evolution in the entire world, helping young trainers such as Dawn to start their journey and keep improving the Sinnoh Dex just like he did with Cynthia years ago

It makes sense that Kukui is the strongest in Pokémon battles, since he studies Pokémon moves. It's somewhat well known that each professor specialises in a specific field. (Minor spoilers for some character development in Sword and Shield, so if you don't know who I'm talking about, then assume you haven't got that far into the game yet) Prof. Samuel Oak (Kanto Oak) studies Pokémon and human relationships, Prof. Elm studies Pokémon breeding, Prof. Birch studies Pokémon habitats, Prof. Rowan studies Pokémon evolution and form changes, Prof. Juniper studies the origin of Pokémon, Prof. Sycamore studies Mega Evolution, Prof. Kukui, as I've already mentioned, studies Pokémon moves, Prof. Samson Oak (Alola Oak) studies Totem Pokémon and Regional Variants, Prof. Magnolia studies dynamaxing, And Prof. Sonia studies the history of Galar. There are some more, but these are the ones from the mainline game, and noticeably only Kukui actually studies battles. Sure, Sycamore and Magnolia study Mega evolution and Dynamaxing respectively, but while those are used for battle, they aren't central to Pokémon battles, like moves are.

The vast majority of these characters use a number of canonical Pokemon in the manga. For instance, Oak is shown winning a previous Pokemon league championship alongside a Kangaskhan, Elm uses a Sentret during Silver's heist, Birch has a Wailord and Tropius that his daughter borrows, and Cedric Juniper uses a lot of his Samurott throughout the BW arc.

The issue is probably picking the type of it. Unless he uses two eevees, he would have to favor one of the evolutions. Maybe he could use sylveon, considering it's an evolution that's not actually seen in anywhere in his region (even in the remakes) but it's included in legends arceus. Maybe nobody knows how to get it and his research involves bringing that evolution back.

There is a fan theory that Professor Oak WAS INDEED a former champion. He has access to Kanto Champion Hall and logs in to the computer to record your team when you beat the Epite 4 and champ is Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow as if it's a commonplace recurrence for him to do so. Also, it's stated in various games and the anime/ manga that Oak was a very strong and respected trainer in his youth. It's very likely Oak is a former Champ of the Indigo League.

With Elm's team, I would switch out either togetic or corsola for the starter that was left over, corsola was only shown to be owned by him in the anime and the player character is the one who eventually gets the togeoi egg in the games, maybe replace the other with raichu since pichu is another well known baby pokemon

I’d also give Fennel an Archeops because in the episode “Archeops In the Modern World” she successfully restored an Archen from a Plume Fossil and studied how the Archen learned to fly. Also I really like the Archen/Archeops from that episode. She was absolutely adorable.

That Archeops ended up joining a group of others of its species that showed up because they heard one of their species and left tho, meaning that either the species as a whole survived the extinction by hiding somewhere and started avoiding more modern live forms, or someone else revived those Archeopses and they escaped to hide somewhere from the present day; either way, I don't think she would be that inclined to revive a second one, just to end up with another prehistoric bird that'll just panic about its resurrection and probably make those Archeopses reappear to take it with them.

Game freak only had 9 months to develop the Kalos games They had to make over 600 Pokemon 3D models, story, 30 fps 3d animations for all the 3D Pokemon models Sure they might not be the best, but what they did in the time they had was amazing. XnY don't deserve any of the hate they get

@@mr.lholmes650 no they don't, I'm aware that they start development before announcing but gamefreak currently only has a 200 something employees as of now, and they probably had FAR less back then. BW2 and XnY were both in development at the same time, and it's obvious which one they put more employees into. Even, let's say a year of development isn't enough to make 30 FPS animations of every Pokemon along with 600+ new models when the majority working on it aren't even familiar with 3D software.

I feel like Rowan should include as many types of Evo as possible, which this team here doesn't do a bad job. Snorlax and loppuny for friendship, Mamoswine and yanmega for a move, gallade for a stone and gliscor for a item at a specific time of day. I'd probably change either snorlax or loppuny for roserade, since it's Evo line has two different ways of evolving, yanmega for either probopass or one of the Eeveelutions of this gen for location evos and probably gallade (because of the overlap with roserade) for a trade one, leaning on electivire since it kinda seems to match his personality, but it's a toss up on that one tbh

Cinnabar's Volcano wasn't inactive, it erupted prior to your reaching Kanto in Gen 2. Just because you can't enter the volcano in any game, unless you accept the theory that the gym itself is the volcano, doesn't mean it wasn't the 1st volcano in the main series. As for how the Gym was the Volcano, maybe it was built covering the crater to the volcano?
