As muslim from huge family, I'll share my parents thought on this. First, not only they indeed see children as blessing, they actually believe children bring their own provision from God. God will give their rizq or provision through many ways as long as they do their best to provide for them. Thats what they believe Second, we are encouraged NOT TO FEAR proverty. This make huge difference in the mindset, as people generally fear poverty and therefore they see children as burden. My parents have 7 daughters and 2 sons as result. And despite coming from poor farmer background, and not highly educated somehow they still managed to send 8 of us to some good universities in our country. So now their children have became a doctor, an architect, an engeener etc ... something they wouldnt think as possible considering their poor background. Now they have 25 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. many of which have grown up and get even higher education than the parents. So we now have so many doctors in family, and often for many this means financially secured as we live for each other, we help each other. If my parents follow western mindset, they would killed most of their babies. I wouldnt have born as I'm the youngest and I'm glad I was given chance to see the world.

A big reason why people here in the West don't have kids are for financial reasons, they believe they just can't afford it, rightfully so. However in Islam financial situation shouldn't be a reason to abort, or to not have kids, as God is the ultimate provider, and he provides for them. Allaah condemned the people of the Jaahiliyyah (non-believers) who killed their children for fear of poverty, and He forbade doing what they did. Many people from many different faiths convert to Christianity as well (and other religions). Proper Christianity will lead you to Islam. Our martial and family structure is just far better then the average Christian family. Our women dress up modestly, our kids are nurtured to be law abiding citizens, and we accept of others so long as they respect our boundaries. Our wives are virgins , knows her duties and respects her partner. The husband is the sole provider and is required to provide for the whole family and keep his wife happy (No 50 50 bs) our Jewish brothers and sisters are similar in a way.
