I work in corporate and this outfit would be a-ok at my work. Just depends how formal someone’s corporate job is

Black is not a good summertime color. For winter, yes. Goth is an out of date style like a mullet hair cut. My kids were all gothed up back in the day. They are now middle-aged with kids of their own.

Don't worry this was me when I was doing my law internship last year. First of all, congratulations on achieving your internship, this internet stranger is super proud of you. Secondly, I'm not alternative but I have a distinct style that isn't really neutral or corporate. My advice would be to really analyse their dress code, get a few staple office pieces and then see what you can do to personalise it. If you really have to conform then play around with your accessories , hair, makeup, desk furniture etc. Also really important, if you can spend the first week observing other people's outfit, from the people in your department to the canteen. It really helps get a basis on whether the work site is lenient on personal style choices or which type of office wear is normal ( example is it's business casual, business smart etc). I hope that helps and good luck in your internship, your gonna kick ass

I went into corporate jobs at such a young age I tried so hard to dress a certain way, but overall, besides some people you may work with, most people, including clients, just like to see authentic people, clearly dressing in a way that has their own style. Dress appropriately in the sense of no flip flops, etc, lol, but overall I think there’s more heart and freedom in SOME corporate spaces than I used to think!

A pharmaceutical company is 100% going to have a different standard than other corporate office. Plenty of corporate offices have started to ease up on tattoos and piercings/jewelry, and even unnatural colored hair. Obviously if you’re working in a lab you won’t be able to wear jewelry or anything loose. But I see plenty of corporate individuals who have more relaxed and somewhat alternative fashion styles now.

I do love this but no. As a corporate goth myself where colleagues call me Wednesday, Morticia, Lydia cause all I wear is black on black and being a VP and Millennial at a multi-trillion dollar corporation , I have some unsolicited feedback. Nails should be natural length and a natural color, tattoos are not visible as they are a “distraction”, accessories like the belt cannot be gaudy, keep the jewelry to a minimum. That is the real world when it comes to corporate attire. You can be goth but keep it corporate. What do you do where that’s allowed? Anyway, love this for you and if your employer is lenient then let your personality shine.

Literally what she's wearing passes at most businesses these days. A lot of your ideas are outdated and don't take into account that not only have tattoos become much more common, but especially if you're working in an office, not that many people care about two rings and a necklace.
