More Double Stops

Double stops are the "chords" of the violin. A key to double-stops is understanding the scale, arpeggio, and movable shapes on the fiddle neck. This video has a diagram for the key of A at the end. You can pause it and study up! My website will be up soon and I will post some downloadable PDFs.

What is that bow hold?

Aasser, my hillbilly bow hold? I use my index and thumb to apply downward pressure and the middle to help hold the bow. Check out the fantastic Michael Cleveland if you want to see an unconventional bow grip! I would advise anyone to start with a proper bow grip. Over time you will find what works for you! Any tips if one has a thin index finger that doesn't fully contact two strings at once (for a perfect fifth)?

Maybe flatten(lay it down a little) instead of standing straight up? i've run into the same problem on the acoustic guitar, at first it seemed impossible but i have kept trying and now i can do it, so keep trying , don't give up! You will figure it out!
