Having the heat tool hot before you start using it warps the paper less and doesn't blow off embossing powder. Faux metal embossing is great on a piece of cardstock then use the die cut.

The Silicone Craft Sheet is another handy tool to use when doing heat embossing.

Great video - definitely need to use the embossing buddy it's an essential heat embossing tool & would love to see the return of the small Powder Pal as it is so much better for containing heat embossing powder
