A very clever subscriber commented about price of gold compared to this concealer so: Concealer £67.5/gram Gold £70-71/gram Her eyeliner costs £24 and has 1.2grams, her lipliners are £20 or £21 and has 1.2grams Hope you guys enjoyed this review and discussion about the price of this product. Don’t forget to subscribe (please don’t accidentally unsubscribe 😂😂😂), like and comment, it really means a lot to me. 😊❤ Edit: Just want to make it clear that I’m not trying to hate on anyone or any product. If you’ve watched my other videos you know I love her highlighter, blush, foundation, velveteen lip, lucent lip and liquid silk eyeshadows. Also, If you watch the entirety of my concealer video, I argue it both ways and even said I’d repurchase the concealer. I still respect and adore Lisa and will continue to buy her products. But we can love someone and still present all sides of an argument and view something critically. I’m going to count the number of uses I get with spot concealing for shade 5 and will let you guys know. ❤️

You shouldn’t apologize or feel bad that you addressed this. I’m also a fan of Lisa but sometimes even people we admire or just people who do a lot right, do something not that well thought through or make mistakes or even loose touch with reality or whatever and it‘s okay when people show them a mirror; tell them how they feel or if they see things different, as long as it’s respectful I think. :) And the comparison with the gold Price is an interesting perspective!

A lot of Lisa Eldridge's products are a hard pass for me. As a woman who wears everyday natural makeup for work, I am looking to enhance my features, liven my complexion and cover some blemishes. I don't have hours to get ready with a magnifying mirror and do pinpoint concealing. I do understand a lot of the artists, like Lisa Eldridge have techniques for photography, films and editorials and use products that are high-performance yet undetectable. As an average consumer, I don't need that. I wear foundation and my foundation looks like foundation, not skin. I don't mind that because I'm not trying to delude myself. This is why I don't really appreciate these weird makeup artists' brands. They keep trying to do something "innovative" or really basic and market it as something "innovative". And concealer in this format of cream pencils, cream sticks have been done years ago. The reason the industry switched to liquid concealers from pencils, sticks and pots is because those formats became low-performance after a few uses. The formula dries out, and ends up looking rough on skin. A liquid concealer is a lot more consistent and reliable.

I’ve been filling my Marc jacobs retractable eyeliner casing with Nars pot concealer to do pinpoint concealing since they stopped selling concealer in pen form in the 90’s. Lisa didn’t invent putting concealer in retractable eyeliner casings- in the 80’s and 90’s they were sold everywhere and then disappeared and she’s pretending she invented it. Keep your old eyeliner casings and fill them with your favourite potted concealer. It works perfectly

Honestly, the review we've all been waiting for. I really do enjoy a lot of Lisa's products and general artistry but I hesitated before seeing your thoughts because to be blunt, other reviewers of her products will fawn over them and tell us that this is the greatest thing since the invention of concealers, and I want someone to be more honest with their reviews. Looking at the product, price, and performance, I think this looks very nice for some use cases but even to make her technique easier it doesn't feel world changing. The biggest plus for her brand is that I feel she's the only one who makes true neutral shades, most concealers lean too warm for me. I may pick up a shade similar to my skin tone for that reason and leave it there. Definitely appreciate your thoughts as I feel more informed if I want to spend my money on this product.

I agree that her shade choices are excellent. As an MUA, she can use her experience and eye to select appropriate undertones. Brands seem to have a target complexion zone that they excel at (generally speaking, and just based on my own complexion and tests). The LE selection has worked the best for my medium golden-olive skin, something that other brands typically have too peach, too green, or too yellow products for.

@@GG-kn2se I'm glad you're enjoying the concealer! I don't think Aijing is biased as all, and considering she owns nearly all (if not all) of LE's collection I feel she has a pretty fair selection of reviews of Lisa's products that are very positive, I ended up buying the liquid silks even though I found they were expensive based on her review. And honestly, I highly recommend them and I can't wait for Ione to come back in stock. Personally, I want someone who will test a product on its merits instead of telling me that it's a flawless, most innovative, worlds-first, never seen before product. That is harder to find for Lisa's brand than I would like, so I personally have to say that Aijing's reviews are a significant help in that respect.

I know there are similar pencil concealers in K-beauty brands and they are considerably cheaper, so I need to try those for comparison purposes. I think this product is worth it if: 1) you don't have a shade in those korean brands, and 2) if you only use it as a pinpoint concealer over another base product. If you're going to attempt to "micro conceal" your entire face (redness, pigmentation, dark circles, melasma, broken capilaries, blemishes, microshadows, etc.), you're going to finish the pencil in no time and you're better off using an actual foundation.

They responded in instagram saying it’s not a good comparison to gold in weight and their staff have been using it for 6months and going strong… maybe they all are covering one spot everyday? Like it’s obvious this is far less of a product designed for people with hyperpigmentation/marks and usually those people have multiple of those to cover. Honestly it should come with a free refill, the markup for this concealer is actually insanity. I like her other products but this is madness, and I want LE to stay giving us what she has so far and not let the corporate greed takeover.

I find it quite hard to blend and it does really highlights the dry areas. Would I buy it again? No, because there is a high chance it might break while applying, looks dry on my skin (I get the same dryness with her foundation which I stopped using it for this reason), not as creamy as I expected and of course it is quite expensive. Coverage is not too bad however I can achieve better coverage with liquid concealers.

Honestly, her foundation and skintint for me and my couperose covered skin is the best thing that happened to me. I've used high end, well reputated brands as well as drugstore and no one does shades better then Lisa. And they don't oxidise, stay put on my very very oily combination neutral leaning skin. I've never felt more beautiful and confident as when i started using her foundation. She has my loyalty to my death bed when it comes to foundation. (And liquid eye make-up, those are just chef's kiss). But there's is no way in Hades' Hell I'm paying 31 eur for a tiny pencil that so obviously doesn't dry down completely, nor covers it all, as you can clearly see on the skin of other reviewers who are clearly biast with the ooh's and the aaah's. Just swith to high resolution in your YT settings and zoom in, it's STILL THERE hon! ...ticks me off. I use my holy grail cheap Catrice waterproof concealer which doesn't cake, covers and sets and stays put all day. Not even Estée Lauder double wear concealer can do what my cheapy can do. Another amazing thorough review, thank you👌🏻 I got overly excited when this release was announced. I adore Lisa and treasure the pin point technique and was looking to the convinience of this one. Now I'm glad I waited for reviews. I wouldn't mind the price, but the ratio of the product amount to the cost is low key criminal 😅 Why did I just assume the actual concealer instert will be almost as long as the pencil? The naivety 😁 Pencil concealers seem as old as makeup itself to me, but I thought maybe the tip will be super precise or the formula truly groundbreaking? 💁🏻‍♀️ On the plus size, I googled and it looks like there are quite a few other options so I may be able to find something that will suit my skin and my needs better. You're so right about what we're paying for here - the technique is so synonymous with her name that I was somewhat convinced this would be the best choice. It's good to remain cool-headed 😊

I also assumed the length of the product will be as long as the pencil packaging itself nearly. So you’re not the only one and our expectations are probably based on all the gel and pencil eyeliners we’ve all used over the years whether they needed sharpening or not. So I wouldn’t say it’s naive to expect that. But that’s just me.

I bought one to match my skin. I just love the practicality and hygiene of a twist-up pencil. Will see how long it lasts with daily wear when used as intended - to cover up blemishes. I tend to do my makeup on the go and always hated potted concealers because i hate washing brushes. And i get worried using a brush that's been sat in my makeup bag to cover up already irritated and inflamed skin. And a finger isn't going to be be very precise. Let's see how quickly it runs out. I may have to try the MUFE pencils and see if i can achieve a similar result. Thank you for you review

Great review, as always! I tried it at the pop-up, on a very conveniently-timed new red spot, and was surprised that it was still quite visible with one layer. It took three layers to adequately (though not entirely) disguise the redness. As you say, it is especially unsuited to dry skin (like most of Lisa's products, unfortunately, in my experience). Especially when layered enough to cover redness. I didn't get to test the longevity because one of the makeup artists tried using it to cover some redness on my chin and was quickly like "Abort! Abort!" 😄 I think she pretty much wiped it off and just used the tint, which also sells out my more dry/textured patches, though not as badly. (I want to slap people who say how hydrating the tint is. They and I clearly have very different skin and understanding of what hydrating means. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sitting here failing to moisturise and then blaming a product for not magically making my skin look perfect - I try my best with skincare and obviously there's only so much makeup can do - but at the same time, I'm not paying big bucks for something that makes it look worse than other products, or no makeup at all.) Regarding the cost factor: I think you're paying for the convenience. It would much easier to spot conceal on-the-go with this product, rather than having a pot of concealer and a brush in your makeup bag (assuming you use your finger to blend the pinpoint concealer rather than a brush). For a few small marks, great, and in a pinch - say you're out and need some emergency coverage, sure, scribble it on a larger area (if you're not a dry bitch like me) - but it doesn't make sense to use it that way on an ongoing basis. As you say, it would run out sooo quickly, and is not as efficient for larger areas as any other format of coverage product. To me it has a very specific use case, and will be absolute perfection for some people, but is really not for everyone. It's a skip for me. I look forward to a creamier concealer release, but won't hold my breath that it'll be for me either.

You are very wise to not have picked it up. I honestly still don’t know if I like the tint or not. I think it’s fine but I don’t think it’s anything revolutionary. Her complexion products all have soft matte finish for realistic skin finish which is not always dry skin friendly.

@@chlomo2618 so well stated! I don’t even have dry skin (count me as “normal”), but the foundation looks dryyyyy on me if I simply apply it straight. 😬 I still use it because I can layer enough primer/moisturizer to make it look good, but I have to be motivated to want the best shade match (e.g. will be photographed that day) AND work a little harder to make it sit nicely. I think the problem with pricing this type of product is that this is a market price for a luxury eyeliner or lip pencil so since this is the same delivery system, it's priced the same. But it takes years to get through an eye or lip pencil because of how solid they are and how much one uses it compared to a concealer, so they really didn't think this through.

I think the idea and how it’s been marketed afterwards are veerrryy different. I believe originally Lisa planned it to be used exactly as she did her teeny weeny pinpoint concealing, with her fine artists brush, onto the odd little blemish etc. Then her marketing department maybe, convinced her it should then be pushed as a scribble everywhere for everything concealer to use and sell more. I was genuinely surprised to see how she pushed it on the launch video, and disappointed with her.

Definitely a substantial video. Thank you. Your inquisitive, brave and amusing exercise in showing us the amount of product present in the component has impelled me to click the Subscribe button! Interesting to know that the product is made in Korea. More and more western brands seem to be turning to Korean manufacturers. Speaking of which, The Saem produce a range of long and slim concealer pencils at a very low price. Though there are just four shades, plus a contour, and salmon and green corrector. These would be dryer than the LE Pin Point concealer. So I wouldn't use them under the eyes or if you are concerned with very dry skin. All wooden pencils necessitate sharpening, so product will be lost. So keep that in mind when weighing up the comparative value. Finally, although pin point concealing can be achieved as Lisa originally did with a pot of concealer and a tiny brush, the pencil or pen formats are handy for concealing on the go.

Thank you for your thoughts on the price and trade mark, they make a lot of sense. There are several Korean and not Korean similar pencil concealer products for much, much less. Lisa is such an iconic and lovable MUA that when she releases a product, it almost feels that she is the first to ever do so. I bought so many of her lipsticks back in the day, even though I wasn’t a big lipstick wearer to start with, and I now I find myself reaching for other formulas before hers like Revlon (that has such great tones, particularly reds 😍) a couple of Chanels/Tom Ford and Suqqu, rather than my LE. I actually went today to get shade matched and try it out in Liberty. I wanted it primarily to cover my melasma. Unfortunately the artist (who was very competent and lovely) said I needed two shades. One to colour correct and then one to match my skin tone. I couldn’t possibly justify buying two of them. The whole appeal of this concealer was the idea of convenience. I wanted something that was portable and quick to take around in my bag. Where I wouldn’t need a brush/pot. But given the price and the fact I need two to accomplish what I wanted from it, I think I’ll just persevere with my Nars soft matte concealers and a brush and see if I can make that work. I wonder if the Laura Mercier secret camouflage double ended pen or compact version concealer would be a good alternative. The website says the size of is 2g of product. So still not a huge amount more. But you only need a tiny bit. With those you also get two shades. And the pen version would be convenient. it’s crazy that something like the Dior Forever skin Correct concealer (that I’d like to try) is 11ml currently for £30.26! I now it’s not an equivalent but it just shows how expensive this product is.

Ingenious!! I actually have the NARS concealer in a little tube(??) and tried her pinpoint technique with that the other day! Worked great and looked great, so can definitely be done, as Lisa was doing it herself with Laura Mercier concealer for decades. I’d also like to wait and finish any of the products before purchasing more of the same type; I have to be careful with space and expiration date as I don’t use them on a daily basis. I love your honest reviews, have recently come across your videos and subscribed for more of the same! Actually your comparison of her lippies side by side got me😂❤❤! I don’t remember seeing L mentioning the price or ingredients in her video about this one, and thinking that was strange, as she always did previously in all her other videos, I 🤔 think….. Hey lovely! 1. Thank you soooo much for this review! I didn't order the "concealer" yet, because I waited for your opinion. 2. I'm pretty sure this pen is not meant to be a 'proper' concealer. It's just for pin pointing. Charlotte Holdcroft said that Lisa is launching a (cream/stick/pot...) concealer very soon. So in my opinion this tiny little product here is just for tiny little areas and (for example) not for under eye concealing. And if you use it just strategically on point, this would make it last very much longer. 3. Your review shows me that I have to contact Lisa's support team, because I cannot decide my shade. And for this extreme expensive product, it should definitely match my skin tone! 4. The writing on her skin tint has rubbed off completely too. That's really annoying because I have two shades and you can't tell the shade from outside the package 🙄. 5. Sending a big hug! 6. 😘 Sabine 😉

As someone who has tiny freckles and light hyperpigmentation spots randomly scattered across my face, I felt like this was made for me. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Traditional concealers are just too big or too much product, even if I barely tap the doe foot on my skin and I hate fussing with a brush for those spots. The final reason I purchased is the confidence I have in Lisa’s color choices. No other brand has matched my undertone as well (i love both the tint and foundation). I still pondered long over which shades to order (5 and 8, which gave me a huge spread for winter and summer) because the chart and photos on the website seemed a little out of sync for my shades. Still waiting to receive my package to find out how I fared! TBH I paused at the price too, but was already ordering the pricey refillable lipstick, so my monkey brain saw the smaller number as a win. 🙃 I wasn’t planning to use this under my eyes, but I appreciate seeing you applying it there. Thank you for such an honest review! I have ordered just one concealer in 3 because of the price and because I wanted to have just one to test the performance. (I was not very happy about the eyeliners so I prefer to try one product these days before buying several shades, unless it’s a lipstick). Could please advise which shade of the NARS soft matte you wear? I’m a 6 in the tint and a 9 in the foundation as well and I have been having so much trouble finding the correct NARS shade. My best match concealer so far is to blend the NARS creamy concealer in vanilla with Armani Power fabric in 4,5 in equal measure for small amounts where needed all over the face. For under the eyes I blend night swan with goldeneye. I was matched crème brûlée (2,5) at the counter for the soft matte and bought it, but regret that since I find it way too orangey/ rosy for my skin.

This is the most helpful review of the concealer I have seen. I have actually ordered the pen, but it took me a while to decide whether to do it because of the price point. In the end, my curiosity has won out 🤷‍♀️ I hear what you're saying about the possible reasoning for the price, but I feel you should not pay for the same piece of advice/technique over and over again every time you purchase a product. What bugs me the most is the fact that the unit is big enough to house at least twice the amount of product. Also, I presume that the casing is made out of plastic? And with Lisa's self-proclaimed interest in sustainability, it feels a tad hypocritical to sell a product that is not refillable and is bound to produce a significant amount of waste. I expect I will probably not be repurchasing the pen unless it proves to be the Holy Grail and even then, it will only live in my make-up bag for touch-ups during the day, but I won't be using it when doing my make-up in the morning.

@ So, a quick update: I got my concealer today and measured it. The concealer itself when you push it out is 3,5 cm long. The housing (excluding the sharpener portion) is 10 cm. Even if you factor in the twisting mechanism inside, there could easily be 2-2,5x of product. If they lose the sharpener, I'd say 3x the amount. I have sent this feedback to the LE Support so that it is on their radar. They can either do something about it if they want to, especially if more people speak up on the pricing, or at least they will know they cannot completely pull wool over customers' eyes. Hopefully, it will be the former 🤞

@ Well, that's a complete BS. Her own eyeliners come in 1,2g for 30ish euros. Her lipliners are 24 euros. Is she saying those are inferior products then? The whole thing seems like a badly miscalculated cash-grab. The fact that no shade has been sold out yet seems a bit odd to me, given how quickly some of her previous products disappeared on launch date in the past. The fact that every single shade of concealer on the website either has a full 5-star rating, or no rating at all also doesn't sit well with me. I have been 'pinpointing' with a concealer brush or my actual finger tips for years without the TM or the 'pricier than gold' product. I'm SO glad I didn't get it now in last week's hype. In my late 40s I need a different formulation. Also, for the first time ever I'm a bit miffed with LE HQ(?) since I ordered 10 days ago and still don't have my order. I feel like they're prioritising certain orders. Maybe not the case but it feels like it, since I ordered mine the same time as most other people and I see it that batch over socials. So far the Tilbury Magic Eraser and Benefit Boi-ing, used lightly have been best for me. I would use Jones Road pencil but the formula isn't right for me. I wanted to wait for what you thought about it too. I'm living fine without a specific concealer at the mo. Is there another tier beyond emerald or maybe do influencers get them early do you know? Anyway, LE customer service is excellent, but all they can say is that it's delayed due to extraordinary high demand of the Pinpoint release 🤷‍♀ Because of your other comparison LE glosses videos I'm confident in my choices in this batch otherwise I would have cancelled it. The closest store to me is Space NK Beaconsfield and not easy to 'pop' to for colour checking. Actually, about the glosses, I don't know if you or anyone else finds that when the LE glosses are at the end of their tube life, there's seemingly LOADS of gloss left inside but the wand can't reach it. I haven't tried popping it fully open yet, have you? That and wanting to use the remnants of her eye pencil shavings is my next 'project', 😆I haven't researched into how others utilise that - there's SO much product wasted otherwise. It's a creamy consistency so I'm sure a eye brush of some sort would work, it's just how.

On other days, it can enhance the effect of a tint or foundation. For all the rest of the world, it would be time consuming to pinpoint conceal and a waste of money apparently. I am 56 with decent but thin skin so I use a light coverage on a daily base. Sometimes, my flex face shield tinted sunscreen from colorescience is enough. For the little shadows that age me ( undereye, nasal folds…)I use my secret weapon: touche éclat from YSL. I let it sit on the skin before blending it for a little more coverage. It’s very thin so it works for me. The shade range is pitiful though….

Mine arrived broken (it came out as I pulled the lid off). And I did think the texture would be softer so it might squash back together but no. I might try the NARS soft matte one instead (liquid ones generally do nothing for me)

I ordered 1-4, despite the hefty tag& fact a pinpoint brush w a favorite concealer achieves the same. The writhing and shade # rubbing off is what I find most unacceptable. So sloppy. Lisa is usually so meticulous, I support her launches, even the face towel. I guess I will have to live with no name concealer pencils after i use these. ❤thank you for the best articulated & honest reviews.

The price is outrageous, but I did get one shade because the intended use is exactly what I am looking for. When I wear base I always see spots because I do have acne scars, pigmentation, etc. and I would like something precise that I can blend with fingers, because I prefer that technique rather than sponges or brushes. That said, I hope it lasts a lot of time and resists my oily skin 😅 AND I would not purchase more than one shade if possible. Always love your reviews!!

We have nearly the same colour in Foundation (9) and Tint (5, your comparison video was very helpful and I think 6 would be also ok for me) and I ordered 3 and 5. They are on the way. I'm not a heavy concealer user, because it always looks not good on me, too much product, difficult to blend... I hope this works better. Of course I bought years ago Lisa's heavy used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer 😅, but that was a little bit dry.

A quick update after my last comment. Shade 3 of the LE concealer came in today and I think it’s pretty similar to SC2 of the secret camouflage by Laura Mercier. Honestly I’m sad to say that I think I prefer using a brush with SC2 to the pen application. It’s portability is great. I will give it that. I just did the math and (admittedly I paid only 25 euros for the Laura Mercier and got the Lisa Eldridge concealer with a 5% discount due to my emerald points) the LE concealer was still 185(‼️) times more expensive to buy per gram compared to LM!!!! 🤯🤯🤯

Ok second comment… the price and amount is comparable to LE and other luxury brand creamy eyeliner pencils too? (Sorry I didn’t look up the actual amounts, just assuming based on the format) And used as a true pinpoint technique (to quickly cover a few spots here and there), it may last just as long as a liner… I fully agree that it’s overpriced, but that’s true for a LOT of makeup 😅

Whenever a product says made in Korea. It’s a no for me. Because there’s 99% chance that theres a Korean brand that sells the same product at a cheaper price point. I don’t feel the same way when it’s made in France, Italy, US, Canada or even China for some reason. Other countries have such diverse and maybe proprietary formulations. While, makeup made in Korea seems so homogenised. Every product feels and performs the same. Even with the packaging. I am not sure why that is. For example those glossy sticks from hourglass. Plenty of the same product from other Korean brands.

It's even more expensive if you order it from Canada. With shipping it's £42 (about $73 CAD), plus you'll likely be liable for duties and taxes and it'll be about $100 CAD (£57) all told. Yeah. I think not. Plus, I'm suspicious the product will dry out very quickly, as Lisa even makes a point in her video of reminding you that you HAVE to put the cap on or it'll dry out. If you have any product left after a month, I wonder if it'll be so dry it's useless.

So... I received an email from the brand requesting me to write a review of the products I purchased. I gave the skin tint 5 stars and the concealer pencil 1 star. Guess which review didn't get posted on the website? Yep, they are censoring negative reviews. I checked right now and the Pinpoint concealer in shade 5 has only 5 star reviews, 15 of them to be exact. I doubt there are only 15 customers who bought this item and posted a review, they must be censoring tons of less- or unfavourable reviews. I find it super shady! Oh and they gave me Lisa&Me points for both reviews, so I definitely submitted it and it was registered, they just don't want to publish it.

It is a pretty great formula, and format in general. But I have a lot of redness, and only after your video I released how quickly I will go through it. Kinda a bummer as I was specifically waiting for LE release, cause her brand is one of the very few ones that recognises pale olive undertone as a thing. Her foundation in shade 2.5 is my perfect match, so I was waiting for a concealer that I can use instead for a full face conceal, since I don’t have to do mental gymnastics of finding a perfect shade. But now I am not sure I will repurchase it. Luckily for me I bought a very cheap and surprisingly great k-Beaty concealer from Japanese amazon that matches my undertone very well, so I will switch to it instead 😅
