What the government considers a felony needs to change, and once a crime is paid for it should be over.

Who are you people to even decide? What do you know about it? My best friend and I both have agg assault w/deadly weapon from over 10 years ago in TX we can't rent apartments, get car insurance, many jobs etc. Sure I voted not long after I got out but I don't really even care about that I just want a real gun not this black powder bs. ALL felons need their rights back just like it was not even that long ago. They used to give a man his gun back when he got out of prison.

What can be charged as a felony today you be surprised that such small things or not ever heard of a person now can be charged on a felony count. Many years ago I bought at the time unknowingly a trailer from advertised on Craigslist but the criminal was an illegal Mexican immigrate that stole the trailer and as I was using the trailer the cops seen it them arrested me on felony theft of the trailer even when I have video of the buy of the trailer and the criminal Mexican - it took me 3 years and $40.000 to clear my name then get the felony dropped, how we found the Mexican criminal was using a privet investigator who found the Mexican illegal immigrant working on the DA family dairy farm who charged me for the crime, when the DA was presented with the investigators evident the DA wanted it all kept quiet so he cleared me of the crime. This state is a criminal immigrant protection state with Sanctuary policy's not to arrest any criminal invader immigrant for any crime, so I became the scape goat for the thief Mexican, so the DA had cheap labor on the family dairy farm.

You can't begin to feel my rage I was falsely charged for a crime a criminal illegal immigrant Mexican cased and then what it cost me to get out of it. Once feet hit the streets you are supposed to have the same rights as everyone else as if you never lost them in the first place. Regardless of the reason you are on the streets. A danger to one's spouse is NOT a danger to society and not a reason to take guns away. No guns in bars might be a bit problematic I think. Should depend on if you are legally drunk or not.
@yosecretsquirrel
@yosecretsquirrel Жыл бұрын
You dont need to infringe their right to own a gun. You only need to make possessing a gun while commiting a crime a minimum sentence of 20 years, that cannot be served concurrently with other convictions. To deter most crime all one must do is make it more expensive than a criminal is willing to pay.
@ieddavidfoster2070
@ieddavidfoster2070 10 ай бұрын
As an ex cop i can say with all my heart, unless you're a dangerous subject you should be alowed to own a gun, some drugs you did 20 years ago should not effect your life today. You served your time it should be over, and your rights are restored 100%. And unless it's a serious sex crime, if you don't re offended all felony charges should drop off after 10 years after completion of your time. This hanging stuff over people is stupid. You commit a felony that's punishable by 2 years in prison, but you get a life sentence of stigma and punishment. This needs to change. I lost a good job because when a department found out my wife was a convinced felon before we met. I walked away from my job because my wife is more important than someone's opinion of her for a mistake she made and never repeated .

I haul fuel now. And still can't have a pistol or be around anyone with one. Meaning my wife can't even have one for home protection with me in the house. It's not fair I understand I messed up when I was a teenager I robbed a store, got caught and did my time. But now I have kids I need to protect incase of a home invasion etc. And worry I will be arrested and locked up for a long time if it came down to protecting my family.

Felons convicted of non violent offenses, that had nothing to do with a firearm should not have any loss of privilege. Especially if they have proven themselves not to be repeat offenders, and also have proven themselves as productive memebers of society. People make mistakes, everyone has, and if they paid the price for their misdeeds then it should be water under the bridge. I know old men who have been felons for decades that have hunted their entire lives (obviously cautious of where and with who) and possess firearms. And I guarantee there is thousands of other men in this country in that same boat. Its not those guys that society should be worried about, their not the ones out shooting up schools, or promoting gun violence. This countrys approach to gun control, and who they view as "responsible firearm owners" is absolutely asinine. Imagine being a felon and playing along with what the law says is right, what are you supposed to do when some young punk crawls through your window in the middle of the night with his gun? I guess your just supposed to be defenseless right?

Work on your spelling and grammar before trying to give other's your uneducated opinions of the constitution, the constitution is not based on opinions, rights are any action that does not interfere with anyone else's rights, it's very clear we have courts and sentencing of incarceration for crimes, we don't need to make a whole group of society that has no rights, if they haven't done enough to have their rights back why are they allowed in society? Isn't funny that the first thing the government does when they get a chance they think the people won't be up bbn in arms over, they take your right to vote and your right to protection. Shows what they really want and what they would take from everyone else if given any chance. We have laws and consequences already on the books for crimes, the more extreme the crime the more extreme the sentence, but to tack on that all felons are no longer 1st class citizens is unconstitutional and will eventually be overturned.
