Some people are born that way. It’s arrogant to assume they are somehow living a worse life than able bodied people. Usually people find a ways around that. Your perspective of normalcy is yours, by all means hypothetically speaking, if most humans had night vision from birth but some didn’t, that wouldn’t mean people who didn’t have night vision are worse off. People and animals adapt to their circumstances exceptionally. The fact she doesn’t have an arm allows her to use the technology, she has a super strong arm which you don’t.
@meimiaolin2581Ай бұрын
@@Naranjus Sure and some are born with no arms and legs. OK?
@NaranjusАй бұрын
@@meimiaolin2581 yes, you’re right some people are born without arms and legs. It doesn’t mean they need your pity. They are people and they deserve respect. Your pity comes from the fact that you see yourself as superior. You assume you live a more fulfilled life than them, but that only speaks to your own ego and arrogance. A life well lived doesn’t depend on whether you are missing a limb or not, it depends on your emotional intelligence and your support system, amongst other things. More often than not, people with disabilities are more resilient and open minded than people without disabilities. By the same token, the elite could see you and cry because you’re living a bad life by their standards. Would that make any sense? This woman in the video is a restaurateur, she’s wealthy and she gets the chance to be a part of something bigger than herself, she represents China internationally. She doesn’t need your pity.

@@zenden9 Why does the US need soldiers? Could you tell me who has the last time invaded the US and why? Without US military all other countries would feel secure without any US invasions and coups. Do you think that one day for some reason China will start to invade and kill all Brasilians, Mexicans, Nigerians, etc.? No! They never would. That’s what you would do if you were China. The innovation and the particular technology have gone a major leap certainly. But that doesn't mean the particular prosthesis is more flexible than a natural human arm, certainly not yet. Under any circumstances, a natural arm is far more superior than any prosthesis. The prosthesis only aids in providing an arm like structure for people who have lost a limb. kudos for the invention by the team though.

It's more difficult to precisely control a human hand with all five fingers and numerous joints, especially without direct interface with neurons. Much easier and reliable if it is just a basic turn and pinch from a sensing and control prespective, especially for a system using only external sensors.

How many times do you shoot a gun or a bow per year, and how often you put on a shirt or pick up a cup to drink? These tasks are what the bionic arm user must do every day and multiple times a day. Being able to put away item and dishes quickly and correctly can mean the difference of whether the user can get a normal job, like those in a supermarket and catering establishment, versus unemployment.
