I managed to leave a 6 7 8 10 split in league a few weeks ago, im lefty. and picked it up by hitting the 6 thin and sending it left . Best spare ive ever taken.

I'm pretty sure when people on tour leave the greek church and they pretty must need to make it, most of them go for the side with 2 because sliding that side is easier then the side with 3 as you don't have to worry about the 9 pin (shooting right side greek church) getting covered. Still an extremely tough split.

Maybe that 4-7-10 that Chris Barnes made in the 2020 Hall Of Fame Classic? Unusual way to get the conversion by the 4 pin carrying to the 10

Toe the hardest split ever to be converted was the 5 7 10. That is considered to be the most unmakeable split in all of bowling because of how thin that layout is and how extremely rare that lay is. No one in PBA history has ever converted it, but there are videos on KZbin of it being converted, and it's the greatest thing I've ever seen in bowling

My son converted the Greek church in the worst game of his high school career as a sophomore. A 118. Said it was the best terrible game he ever bowled. :) I picked up the 8-10 once.

I have never made the 7 - 10 conversion ! The closest that I came to converting the 4 - 6 - 7 - 10 split is my ball hit the 4 - 6 pins , the 4 pin slid over , knocked down the 6 pin , and the 6 pin barely touched the 10 pin leaving it rocking back and forth .

I converted the greek church a few weeks ago in league. My approach was the same as Sean Rash. Hit the three pins on the right. The six pin flew across and glanced the seven which was left spinning in place. It then nudged the 4 pin just before the pin setter was able to pick it up

In a tournament at the Marlboro Lanes, Marlboro, Missouri, Don Carter vs. Billy G, Billy converted a 6/8 split on the eighth frame on the first game of a three game tournament.

I seem to recall Bo Burton saying multiple times on the old ABC PBA telecasts that it was better to shoot the Greek church by going after the pair of pins and not the group of three

Yep, I watch old telecasts and saw that too. I've tried it that way and definitely easier, and somewhat repeatable. It's just a 4-9 with a little luck thrown in.

Great hard conversions. Long time ago I got so close to doing the big four. Threw it hard and straight at the 6-10 the 6 bounced out of the pit hit the 7 but the pin fell straight forward and didn’t touch the 4

Shooting for the 2 IS the higher % way to pick up this split. Bo Burton used to draw in on the tele-strator as the proper way to make it. It's basically like making a 4-9, but if you keep the speed on the soft side, the 4 will rebound forward off the 9 to take care of the 6 and 10. It does require luck, but not as much luck as shooting at the 3 and hoping for a bounce.

I picked up the 4-6-10 twice and 2-4-6-7-8-10 once, still waiting for my first 7-10 but i guess it's ok if i won't have the occasion to pick it up 😅

Imho, if bowling gets rid of the side walls and have a deeper end-of-lane bag, it’d have a real chance of making it to the olympics. There are too many variables that are left up to luck, and also possible corruption, for it to be a legit sport in the olympics. Make do without the messenger, and ensure a weak shot leaves a 10 (or 7).

The Greek Church & also the baby bedposts splits are fairly straightforward splits to make you just need to power drive your ball through them & if you hit them hard enough 1 of them is very likely to rebound either off the pit behind the deck or? off of 1 of the side boards though both variants of picking up a spare are difficult they're not unachievable.....the hardest part is getting your ball to hit the pin at the right angle necessary to get the pin to bounce back towards any other remaining pins

Try making a split from the angular instead of bouncing it off the back or the sides. Pros cannot make splits. I have been watching a long time. Was spare practice given up for throwing strikes only?

I still say it is illegal to hold the ball with 2 hands when releasing. That is an unfair advantage. What happenned to normal throwing?

what about doug kent in 1990 in a major, he made the greek church why is he not on this video, he still holds the record for still being the only player to convert a greek church on national tv in the 1990 national championship tournament major, and holds the record for over 33 years, a lot longer, then the last person converting the 7-10 since 1991 to 2021, why is doug not on this video?
