Don't know about Haas but when I run work that is about 40min of cycle time and it has a tool that gives me trouble, usualy a boring head which have trouble to break a chip. I use the tool life function to flag that tool so I can focus on other things like deburing until that tool comes up.

If you have bluetooth in your probe, your probe would be completely useless or would have to move extremely slow. Machine is doing all the measuring, probe is just a glorified switch. The reason renishaw is using light or radio is because all th probe is doing, is just toggling a switch while probe is moving. And that toggling is happening at a speed of light, so the time delay constitutes to a negligible measuring error.

Bluetooth Probes aren't unheard of. They don't use Bluetooth for the skip signal, but they are able to do things like let you monitor battery life, change settings. Some of the tool setter versions even let you export tool lengths and the such.

I have a microphone. It's the recording software doing something weird. I think my mic was quieter than Harrison's, and it tried to boost my volume to match him. I keep fixing it, and it keeps breaking on me 🫤
