Medications & Peripheral Neuropathy - Part 2
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Medicines are meant to help, not harm. But sometimes taking too many drugs can be dangerous.
Although some medications can save lives, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates “Americans buy much more medicine per person than any other country”.
World statistics reveal that the United States is the most over-medicated country, resulting in drug-disease interactions.
This is a frequent culprit with so many new peripheral neuropathy cases. More and more people are developing peripheral neuropathy which is being labeled as idiopathic, meaning of unknown origin. When in fact, the origin of the nerve damage is due to one or more of the medications that are currently prescribed for these people.
I can’t impress enough how important it is for each person to be informed because most doctors are only aware of 1 or 2 possible side effects, at best, from each drug they prescribe.
So, in this video, which is the second part to: Is Your medication causing neuropathy? I’m going to uncover even more commonly prescribed medications that are linked with causing nerve damage.
San Antonio Neuropathy Center
Dr. Monteiro and Dr. Coppola are the founders of the San Antonio Neuropathy Center where they’ve been helping people recover from neuropathy for over 18 years. Their services have been sought after from people throughout the United States and Internationally. Their unique approach is drug-free, non-surgical and helps relieve neuropathy symptoms while restoring function and repairing damaged nerves.
NUPHORIA cm
Dr. Coppola and Dr Monteiro also developed a neuropathy product line called NUPHORIA cm designed specifically to help their patients recover faster from neuropathy. Once available only to their patients within their clinic, NUHORIA cm is now available to the public at:

Defeat Neuropathy Now … In Spite of Your Doctor
Dr. Monteiro and Dr. Coppola are the co-authors of the book Defeat Neuropathy Now … In Spite of Your Doctor. A couple of years ago my freind weighed over 400 lbs and was diabetic. The doctor wanted to put her on more medicine because she wasn't doing well. She got mad, said that she wasn't overweight and had no problems until they put her on medication. So she quit seeing the doctors, stopped taking all medications and went on a super low carb diet and started walking for exercise. Two years later she just got her weight down to 190 lbs and is officially not diabetic anymore. She also just turned 78 years old. She looks fantastic and feels amazing.

Got finger infections out of nowhere, no cuts, good hygiene, and the MDs bombarded me with strong antibiotics. After finishing the 3 courses of the antib my health went havoc for quite a while. Now, I learned the lesson and am taking 1 raw garlic per day with coconut yogurt, as a natural antib, and if finger infections start to give some signs of returning, then I soak the finger(s) in a iodized fine salt, add extra salt over the infection and - voilà. I’m doctoring myself as often as possible to save my health.

At one time I took anti-anxiety medication which then led to restless leg syndrome and a diagnosis of Sjogrens Syndrome. I also took medications for migraines and acid reflux. I also took allergy medication. Two years ago I changed my diet by giving up sugar from my diet and by eating once a day. I started feeling better than I had in years so I decided to ask my Dr if I could start to wean off my medications to see what would happen. Happily I no longer take any medications with the exception of an allergy medication that I take only when they flair up. I no longer have anxiety, restless leg syndrome, no sjogrens, no migraines, no acid reflux. I’m 63 and feel better than I have in decades.

Happy to say at age 76 I take no medications prescribed or otherwise. My wife 46, takes 15 prescribed drugs and is a wreck due them. I am American but have lived in Central America since 2013. Past 6 years in Costa Rica. I am a Us Army Vet and the VA used to medicate me for all kinds of unnecessary things. I quit with them in 2009.I served 32 year in the US Army and severely wounded 4 times. I still carry two AK 47 bullets next to my spine and in my right kidney. My left arm held together with titanium for over 50 years. Had a broken left knee cap at age 15, shot in the right knee with a 45 when 29. But that doesn't stop me from walking 12 to 15 kilometers a day. Nor dose the 2wo titanium plates and 26 screws prevent me from bench pressing 110 kilos. Only thing I can do that is both impressive and safe. It would never take horizontal strain. Oh yeah its painful at times, but try to ignore it and it goes away in a day or two.

As much as we would like to think doctors are helping their prescribing pills to mask the pain etc if they really wanted to help us and no help the manufactures profit they would be find or telling us how to get better because all the meds will eventually create other health issues. These holistic etc ways to do some things. And sometimes we have to be our own solution. Not all doctors some there are some that go against the grain and are for the patient. First day on gabapentin I felt off balance. It passed but after two weeks my feet and ankles began to swell. Doc took me off of it. I have sensitivity to most meds. I have high blood pressure and hashimoto thyroiditis. I also have pernicious anemia so need B12 injections. It took a trip to ER and it was my lucky day! Had a doctor who found my B12 levels were zero! He felt it was at that level for at least 2 years. My GP for years never thought to run a B12 test. I had all of the symptoms of critically low B12 yet they said I needed anti anxiety meds and to take yoga classes. Being so low on b12 for years has caused nerve damage. My left side becomes weak at times. I hate taking medication but do take meds for hypothyroidism and HB. Occasional Tylenol for pain.

These PN cases touch my heart in a way you could not imagine because of what I went through when my mother had her PN, which was severely debilitating. My mother was blessed because she had me to help her navigate. Most people are not that blessed and are left hopeless and suffering, which is why we created this channel. To let peripheral neuropathy sufferers know they're not alone, there is a solution and there is hope. Blessings.

I am a Army Combat Medic, and infected with Agent Orange during the Vietnam Campaign, and I am still battling with the effects. I am taking 12 medications, and the Neuropathic meds make me feel like a numbed person. And yet these medications are not helping me or addressing all my symptoms. If these medications have to be eliminated , then I am willing to stop taking these meds…

Hi Benjamin, your story sounds so familiar because my husband died in 2015 due to Agent Orange related diseases. (prostate cancer, lung cancer, and a heart attack). Our daughter (44 now) has suffered all her life with neuropathy in her feet, Trigeminal Neuralgia in her face, skin diseases, mental health disorders and kidney cancer. I often wonder if her illnesses were Agent Orange related. She's been taking Gabapentin for years and a psychotic medication called Ziprasidone. I think both drugs have damaged her. She's incoherent most of the time and unable to work. It's so sad what some of these drugs can do to humans and yet still doesn't ease the pain. If you stop taking Gabapentin, I hope you can successfully live a healthy life without it. Merry Christmas! Linda from Oregon

I was prescribed a medication for muscle relaxer/muscle spasticity. I developed. It initially seemed to prevent me from sleeping. I switched it to the morning. It seemed that the spasticity increased. My doctor said to take the medication a certain way. I took 1/2 and started experiencing less spasticity but it continued with weird tightness and weakness. Now I'm taking 1/4 which now I feel and am moving much closer to normal. Amazing how a little 2 mg tablet can do so much. This med long term side effects includes kidney damage, dizzy, muscle weakness and I experienced tingling in my legs, and it has negatively affected my blood pressure. Thank you doctor for acknowledging these supplements. I use them to help with the MS.

I have said for many years that I think Effexor caused my neuropathy. I had neuropathy many years before becoming pre diabetic. I was on effexor after the birth of my son at age 33. (Only child) had baby blues and tried different anti depressants and effexor was the one I could tolerate and was able to function. Seven years after being this I decided I thought I could do without taking effexor and gradually weaned myself off Did ok getting off the med but discovered I still needed the med. and started taking it again. Shortly after stopped the med I started has odd pain ( which later diagnosed as fibromyalgia ) and pain in my feet. Couldn’t figure out what was causing the pain then figured it was neuropathy. Tried different meds to help and the only one that worked for me was tramadol It’s sad that side affects are not better exposed (at least I wasn’t aware )

My dr gives me gabapentin but ive only taken about 4 pills out of 6 scripts. Even after i told him i dodnt want them anymore!! Effexor is an ssri,which is hortific for your body. Te first Surgery did nothing but pain. The second surgery for my spine is scheduled for June 26. Two Years ago I start getting my feet numb as a walk or stand five minutes. I think this is from the Spine. However the neurophaty got worse and worse and about six months ago I got additional B.P. medicine Hydralazine ! The Pharmacy asked to contact my cardiologist to discuss. However I am still using it and my Neurophaty has increased. I just asked the Cardiologist to give me a substitute ASAP. Will wait and see !

I took lyrica for 10 days and had to stop. It worked wonders on the nerve pain in my arms, however it made doppy and it made me lose my balance.
@kaygrace5250
@kaygrace5250 11 ай бұрын
It takes about 3 months on Lyrica for the doppy feeling to go away and the balance issues. I have been on it for over 20 years, I was in a car accd and suffered a sciatica nerve injury and bad neck injury, had surgery and was worst, it was 5 yrs before Lyrica was on the market, I was completly bed ridden at 42 yrs old. When Lrycia came out =, I was put on it, I was given my life back, It is not a cure but they still don't know what to do when a person has all their nerves communicating the wrong signals to the all the muscles. Its like someone turned up the radio all the way to the highest volume, by nerves are beating that loud, and the muscles were losing their membranes fast, so Lyrica saved my life but it would be great if the nerve/muscle research doctors could find a cure. Its like I get it, I think they have kept all the cures from us because of greed and power, for the few at the Top, the Rockfeller family has controlled the Medical Education and Systems set in place in America and they don't want us to know about the cures. Since the 1930's when they would just kill the natural healing doctors who would not comply to their Rules and changes in the Medical Treatments, that they wanted in place, for their own love of money and power. And that is to Make the Guidelines, that they have in place now, if the doctors don't comply, to their guidelines and standard of treatments, they have in place, like for cancer, they can only push chemo and radiation treatments. Can't tell a patient about Diet and Nutrition, etc. or they will lose their License. So the ones at the Top who are the Overlords over our Gov, have made our Medical Political and our science , Political. Political Science, thats why they named it that. And why is our own gov pushing transgender operations that they will pay for in our Educational Public Schools. Cause its not Normal Education anymore. Its Marxist Education Systems, now. Political Education.

Gabapentin was prescribed tome for Shingles pain. It made me feel suicidal. I told my doctor and she took me oof of it, but listed it as an allergen for me. Shingles is intensely painful, but use topicals if possible, like lidocaine but still don’t overdo it. I ended up using lite applications of aloe vera on the rash, and an ice pack wrapped in a towel.

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned that excessive & long term amounts of Vitamin B6 supplements (incl. from B6 fortified foods) can cause peripheral neuropathy. Yet there isn't this issue with B6 from natural food sources. And because a vitamin is water soluble, it doesn't mean that it can't accumulate in the body (B6 has a half life of 25 - 33 days, stored in muscle, plasma, liver etc).

We changed our diet to get our health back by getting away from processed foods, bad seed oils, sugars, high fructose syrup and replaced it with whole organic foods grass fed & grass finished, pasture raised and do our best to stay non-gmo. The “Side Effect” of our choices were that we’ve lost nearly 40 lbs each no longer in need of BP meds, my husband takes only 3 meds now vs the 7 or 8 different drugs that he was on just 3 years ago. I’m 69 and am not on Any medications. Doctors are never interested as to why you have certain symptoms because they’re Not trained to find the Root Cause and help you to Reverse the problem. There’s No Money in doing that . . . It’s Medicate OR Operate. You have to be your Own Advocate. So I am grateful to have found you because you are one in just a Few physicians Brave enough to have this open discussion of the Dark Side of the drugs that are so commonly prescribed. God Bless You !!!
