I bought a 6 ply R14 rear goodyear tire. 12-16.5 R14T GOODYEAR SST. They may have upgraded, but thanks for your comparisons.

My B2601 is a bit older and did not have the self levelling option. I use pallet forks all the time without a tipping issue. Once you get a set of pallet forks you use the bucket less. Forks have got to be the most used attachment I own. I honestly never thought I would use them as much as I do. Every loader needs a set of forks! They save a lot of labour.

I bought a B2601 last November. The backhoe just came in and was installed last month. The thing I don’t like now is the seat for that BH70 kit with no suspension 😡, I would of thought Kubota would have a better setup. I have the R14’s was no price difference here, I had option of 3 tires to to pick. I’m sure they figured it in somewhere, lol. Very happy with it other than the seat. Thanks form Connecticut for all your great videos.

I agree with the seat as well! I'm glad that they didn't charge extra for the tire options for you. How are you liking the R14s?

@@timschison52 the R14’s are great in mud and snow but tough on turf. I don’t use it as a mower so that is ok.

The backhoe seat is an issue. Besides the lack of suspension the backhoe seat is not set up for PTO use unless you are sitting on the seat. If you want to run a PTO driven firewood processor or pump for example you have to hold back the limit switch with a string or wire tie. The other issue is the rubber bumpers that stop the suspension from bottoming out - if you spin the seat around often enough you will eventually knock them off. But that said I do love my backhoe. I do recommend rear facing work lights. My R4 tires seem to be fine.

@gregorymacneil2836 , I believe that the BH70 kit from the dealer comes with a different seat safety switch that comes originally from the factory for the B2601. The reason I can say this is because mine has already given me trouble. The thing about it, I can run my pto as long as I flip my seat forward as soon as I engage the pto. Thanks for watching!

May I ask why you purchased your B01 after already having a L2501? I am thinking of going the opposite way (have a b series and thinking of replacing it with l2501) for more capability with not much bigger physical size thanks!
@walkerdb84

I'm guessing it is because he is running a mid mount mower as well.

I use the B2601 around my house primarily and the L2501 on the Acreage. The B2601 is very nimble and lighter on the lawn.

Good video. What chains did you go with? I am considering chains for my R14 equipped B2601.

Thanks for the kind words! I am using Trygg diamond studded chains. They are made in Sweden and have a good quality of steel in them. I use the same brand on my log truck, they last years.

I've been looking at a b2601. I've seen a few videos of people tweeking the loader arms. Have you had any issues with that ? Thanks .by the way i live in Northern Minnesota waiting for the snow to melt too.

So far I haven't had any issues but I could see if you were not careful on any kind of a lean with an at capacity load you could tweak it, but that would apply to just about any compact tractor.

Thank you for sharing! Also which hydraulic detent option did you get for the rear?

Thank you for the quick response! Let me clarify, did you get a float detent or double acting valve section? If you're not sure that's fine too. I've never had rear hydraulics so I don't know the difference.

No problem, with the little tractors I think that there is only one option and that is double acting return to center on both remotes. I hope that helps.

Hello Tim. Great video, very informative. I too would buy the B2601 again, and am continually amazed at what this little tractor can do. I think wheel spacers are in my future. We live on a hilly property, improving stability would be great. Any thoughts you could share on yours would be greatly appreciated. Steel or aluminum, where you purchased yours, etc. Thanks Ben

I definitely think that they give the tractor more stability. I got mine through the dealer at the time of purchase. They are steel and Kubota made. Thank you very much for the kind words Ben.

I have a b2601 with a backhoe (I say that because it makes it more top heavy) and also live on a hilly property. I ended up putting on 2 1/2 inch spacers on all four wheels so that it's 54 inches wide. I didn't want it any wider than the bucket. It helped tremendously with side hilling. When it was stock I felt like I was going to tip over if I hit a pebble, but not anymore. My next step is going to be rimguard to make it even more stable. I'll probably only fill the tires half way though because they advise against it with a backhoe, most likely because of the load on the stablizers.
