This will be used in my next camper build. I was excited to test it out and see how the inverter performed. It performed great! I could not actually connect the DC to DC charger because I need to wait until I pull all the power system apart to do that.

Wonderful info video.👍🏽 Can I use that Power inverter & battery charger hooked up to my Jackery & Eco Mini? I hv only a AGM battery for now, later I'll get a Lifepo4 later.

LiFePo4 are awesome. But if you AGM is still working, why swap it, right? You won't need the inverter or charger if you already have a Jackery. No point.

@@Tiny-Campers I'm finding that when I don't drive as much I need a back up power. My ICECO go20 is a power hog because I only use the freezer part. Plus I'm planning to hv a smaller fridge along with the freezer. Other than that, I don't have much that's using up power.

"charges much faster than solar" -- depends on the setup. My solar config contributes more than the alternator at local solar noon. "your car alternator is not made for these batteries... It's not good for your battery because it's not made for that kind of current" - in my testing and data collection direct-charging LiFePO4 from the alternator with NEG return through the chassis pulls an average max of 0.33C, the ~same as AGM. For example, my 100Ah LFP bank pulls ~32A at lower SoC, tapering off as bank voltage rises. Notice that the 40A DC-DC in this video is actually passing *more* of "that kind of current" than my plain relay.

Cool! That thing certainly is a beast. Thanks for the review and test. Q: Did you create a new channel for your Maverick build? 🙋🏼

No. I have just been too busy to work on the maverick. And my recent ladder rack hack attempt was a failure. So nothing new to post.

Awesome video!👍🏽 Can I use the Power inverter & battery charger with my Jackery 1000wh & my Evo Delta mini 882wh? Can u do a video with step by step hookup with wires & power strip to the 2 units? Right now I only hv AGM battery. Thx 🙏🏽

You don't need the inverter or charger if you have a Jackery. That unit will have everything in it already. That is why it cost so much more :)

If it is working ok, I would not worry. The worst reasonable that could happen is that your battery will die sooner. Which is not all that bad either. But if it does die sooner than you anticipated, then getting a dc to dc charger may be a consideration.

I totally understand your preferred conversion to DC to DC and ditching solar system. Makes much more sense and I want to set it up in my Element. Found a Bbr 100 Ah battery rated 1280 Wh, and a Powertrend Inverter @ 3000Watts, no 2000, plus the same charger. I don't know the significance of the 1280 Wh rating and see yours at 640 Wh and 50Ah. So if this inverter maxes at 3000Watts output, how much time does one get with this battery, or does it harm this battery and/or my hose battery? Or how does, if it does, output more watts than the battery rating? Trying to grasp the unknown functional details. (Blame ADHD) Also, presumably the charger turns off when battery fully charged, as well as not depleting the house battery when using appliances. Technology so complicated for me the is magic🤪 While I seriously doubt I'd run more than 2000 watts at once, I might want to run an Air fryer which is 1700W and something else high draw. 🙏🙏🙏

That little 50Ah battery was just used as a prop. My camper battery is a 100Ah. How long you get use your battery, depends on how much power is being drawn. If you use the DC to DC charger with the D+ control pin, it will isolate your car (house) battery so, it will not be affected even if you deplete your camper battery. The inverter is rated to what is can potentially output, not necessarily what it will output. Connecting a 10Ah battery to a 3000W inverter is pointless. Bottom line. If you want to cook with a 1700W air fryer (yikes!), I recommend a 200Ah battery with the 3000w inverter. or.... buy a smaller air fryer and use a 100Ah battery with a 2000w inverter :)

If you are near Orange County, we can test your fryer on my system to see how it performs.

The air fryer I know has a massive draw and I don't like that. It's just one I've been using at home. So for camping I'll shop for a small one that's reasonable. I appreciate the testing offer but don't think it's necessary at this time. Thanks anyway. And cost of your DC system, is a bit pricy for me but actually not for the ease of continuous charging when traveling. And your recommendations as to top of line products are noted as well. DC system will eliminate having solar on roof and installing roof racks as you did. I can no longer self install so just the cost of hiring it done is likely more than new DC equipment. By the way, excellent presentation Pasqual !!! And the floor and hidden storage are superb.

Well for easy of use, I actually would just recommend a power station. These inverter and battery systems are just less expensive per watt. I would recommend an all in 1 unit that you can just plug into your car cigarette lighter to recharge. Something like this: amzn.to/3pcCh51 No installation just plug and play! But they are bulky.

So how many watts for solar charging do I need to able to use my tv my gaming system my lights and electric stove together
@Tiny-Campers
@Tiny-Campers Жыл бұрын
Solar panels will not give you the power you need. The panels recharge your battery. It will be your battery that supplies the power. Don't know about your specifics but electric stoves use a lot of power.

@@steelmademance8167 My guess is that you would need a 200Ah LiFePO battery and 200watts of solar.
