100 Full-lifes! I farmed a lot of triple triad getting energy crystals. Tool refine 10 Chimera cards for a Regen ring. Lmag refine Regen ring for 20 Full-lifes. I had the resources from the energy crystal grind and this is amazing from HP junction. Squall lvl 8 5329 HP. Just another amazing video full of awesome tips and some great comments!!!

I'm playing for the first time (I don't count times when I was playing on my brother's computer because I was afraid of time limit so I've never even tried to defeat Ifrit) and first I was so confused on card minigame and its purpose xD I gave up playing it after first try when I lost Ifrit card xp I'm on Disc 2 and I think that for now I stay in drawing magic but when I try to play again I'm definitely gonna use these tips.

I remember zells card turns in to hyper wrists which teaches the str % to gf's so you can have all gf's equipped with the str%line for your playable characters which you may not have normally had but if your this op any it's doubtful that would be of use 😄

One good idea is to grind the starting area for special cards dropped rarely by the caterpillar, bite bugs, glare eyes, and either get a t-rex card or another rare card from the plant monsters in the gardens training area. these make card fights much easier at the start as well as a good excuse to farm AP for the summons you have earned so far.

I started a new game last night and got a jumbo cactuar card from one of the jellyfish creatures between the mountain and forest next to fire cavern. 8 on the north and east side of card and 4 in the south and west side of card. Makes a great early game card for bottom left corner of board

If they did a complete remastered or reboot of the game i hope they improve the junction system. I didnt dislike it but it was bit of learning curb and took bit to understand. When you figured it out the junction system can make your characters a beast but at same time it can be very frustrating and sometimes time consuming. Least for me

Quistis card mods into 3 Samantha Souls, which can be Time Refined into 180 Triples which is the fastest best Str junction you can have until you can start farm/grinding ultima from FH and the Shumi village, though grinding for ultima this way is very very time consuming

Win a few matches in the garden early on until you get every rare card. Then go to balamb city and activate trade rule: diff. Full is nice too but I prefer diff so I can choose to ignore cards which need more than 2 to convert into items. And then grind your heart out. Pregerably Dr. Kdowaki and the gate warden of the garden. Get as much Geira, Triple Visages, Steel Gigants, Morbols etc. It is possible that Squall gets the 2nd best upgrade before or right after Dollet iirc. And later on focus on cards like Cocutus, which convert into 5 to 10 stones of the most powerful spells. Cocutus = 10 Holy Stones -> Life Mod for 10 Holy Spell Tiamat = 10 Flare Stone -> Fire Mod for 10 Flare Spell. I only junction spells I will not use. Regen, Haste, Double Triple etc. are used constantly until Cerberus unlock. Regen plus Haste is the best regular healing when drawing spells.

i been focusing on getting most of the cards. im still on disk 1. and my squall is in his level 40s. i have the ff8 strategy guide. if any one wants to know where to get all the level 5 and level 6 cards. go to galbadia garden and go in the classroom and theres a group of 3 people, the girl, challenge her, she has all the level 6 cards and in the hallway where the students are doing the pushups, theres a blonde kid walking down the stairs, challenge him and get all level 5 cards. keep doing this til you get enough to card mod into items you need for weapons. works wonders LOL. im gonna have to wait til disk 2 to get the lionheart. but i got most of the upgraded weapons.

Meltdown is much better for Vitality than for Magic, which is a dead stat anyway, if you junction high level magic like Tornado and Flare to Str-J you won't be casting magic for the rest of the game.

I did something similar to what you did but only for strength and I modded the Quistis card and refined the samantha souls for 100 triples and Squall's strength shot up to 204. allow me to streamline this for you. Break causes Petrify, and if you petrify all the enemies on the field, you gain no experience when you win, but you will get the AP. So by that logic, putting Break in your Status-Atk is what helps limit your experience gain.

Other thing i would add if when refining magic, items that refine into 30 magics, i would just refine one character to 90 and then go to the next character and refine the magic to them, then just transfer the magic to the first character. the way he currently does it is a bit wasteful but not that big of a deal.

Exactly what I was thinking get 2 characters to 90 then 3rd to 30 transfer 10 from 30 to other 2 to make them 100 then get 3rd to 100 that way if one gets say 30 Demi to max 3 characters would need 10 but way he does it would need 12 waste of 2.

You want to have Str-J separately into 3 characters and the same with HP-J. Everything else doesn't really matter at this stage. If you have a character with 3k health (from Curaga or Regen for example) and close to 100 Strength from Tornado then you are effectively godlike regardless of whatever other junctions you decide to use.

Sorry for the late reply, 1+ year late is better than never i suppose Like in ff7, the characters are essentially blank slates for the game's gimmicks. Though their base stats differ, it's not enough to really consider and the tiny difference can easily be made up for in junctioning and stat ups. So in the end, picking your party members boils down to which limit breaks you like (i prefer quist and rinoa). As for the GFs, it's still mostly preference but some are better than others (Ifrit, Bahamut and Eden are some good choices, while i like to avoid Levi and Carbunkle)

From gf. You have to level their abilities. If you dont want to gain xp you can use card ability in battle and turn your enemies to cards. Im sure theres other exploits too ( like killing your team with seifer during thebseed field exam and leveling your gf abilities) 8 is real low though thats dedicated. Ive happily beat this game on lv 99m (omfg the end boss) low level is a diffrent kind of challenge and appeals to alot of playwrs because this game levels with you. So if you get to the and boss and you are lv 25 she wont have a billion hp

xxcloudtwoxx farming Krysta in Balamb is insanely tedious and time consuming, you are better off to move on a couple more hours in to the game and farm the student in Galbadia Garden who carries level 6 boss cards in bulk.

You have to get siren when selphie joins you right before the anthena, via draw the area boss and for diablos you speak to Director Cid just before leaving to Timber, he will give you a lamp and then just defeat him afterwards just get those skills with AP from your new GFs.

You start the game with two gf. You pick up ifrit before the field exam, you draw siren during the field exam. After cid gives you a magic lamp and you summon diablos on low level and get him. You level thieir abilities . You use card mod in battle so you dont gain xp. If you run in the water you encounter these two orange fish. They are easy to card and give 6ap per battle, alotbof peoplemgtind there gf abilities before they leave for the first seed mission. You always gotta make sure your gf are learning what you want them to learn.

Its a common mishap. You can get Siren later, but sadly not until disk 4. Personally, I would restart but upto you really :/

During the dollet mission you can equip the gfs onto seifer and level him along with the other gfs up with the other two party members ko'd.

@@AkemiTCG if you leave a gf equipped to each character the GFs will level faster. The KO'd character won't earn exp but the gf still will. If all 3 are on Seifer then they'll split the exp.

There are a few tricks but leveling someone up is not really a problem. Getting a few levels on one character is not gonna make any difference. The whole "don't level your characters ever" moto comes from the fact that noobs tended to get to very high levels at the beginning of the game, which is a massive mistake, gaining a level here and there is perfectly fine.

Armadodo cards are way better for modding into Dino Bones than T-Rexaurs. 1:1 ratio instead of 2:1, and they’re more common. Also, Pain in ST-Def defends against Curse, not Death, and at this point in the game is also by far the best junctioning spell for the Magic stat-I believe only Triple and Ultima are better, though I may be forgetting something. Unless you really need multiple statuses in ST-Atk or ST-Def, or just aren’t using magic, it’s probably best to stick it in Magic for most of Disc 1.

if you want to do all character Ultimate Weapons or just Lion Heart on Disc 1 you gonna grind a lot of Triple Triad anyway cause Elnoyle cards is really annoying to grind and you need 20 of them just for Lion Heart (60 of them if you want Save The Queen for Quistis)

Another easy way to get meltdown is to just go to the forest area near Trabia and level up Gayla. Draw 100 meltdown and run.

How is this easy??? Trabia is only available after disc 2 and your method requires leveling up the characters which you don't want to do. The Card Mod method allows us to get 100x Meltdown easily, immediately after getting Siren.

@Ze M M stocking up on Gayla cards is time consuming and Meltdown has no real benefit in Disc 1 so I prefer not to spend hours farmhng Gayla cards. You don't level up your characters, you level up the Gayla using Level Up command (gained from Tonberry GF).

@@nasserarif759 if you are farming for Tornado you will inevitably come across a ton of Gayla cards because pretty much everybody plays them. So the only reason to not have Meltdown is because you didn't know it existed or because you didn't farm cards at all in the beginning. Most people nowadays, due to how widely spread this information has become, will always lose some hours farming cards and AP at the beach at the beginning of the game so they will have enough cards to mod (and this form of farming is not too boring and it does save a lot of time down the road so it is recommended even for people that don't enjoy grinding in games).

@Ze M M I personally found that it took too much time so while I did collect some Gayla cards along the way I didn't specifically spend further time trying to maximise Meltdown x 300 at disc 1. The characters are powerful enough to kill in 1 hit and the 100 x Meltdown junction is better used when maxing stats later on in the game in my view.

Or? Just learn strength +20 and 40% from ifrit. Junction water to the str stat, and convert zells card into hyper wrists. This will easily put your strength to about 70-90pts. Then just run through the game until you get to Galbadia. Travel to lollapalooza canyon and battle visages, lefty and righty. They are weak to siren spell, so try to get siren close to 900compatible, eventually you can draw spells like meteor, reflect and haste from them, and they will all be silenced from sirens attack, allowing you to safely draw 100 of each spell. Long as you have about 90str stat, the game is insanely easy. Lollapalooza canyon gives you about 900-1000exp each fight, and 12 AP making it the BEST farming spot in the game

For exp Visages and the accompanying Lefty and Righty are excellent. But if you're farming purely AP to learn GF abilities, Cactuars are the best enemy in the game. 20 AP each kill. They do have extremely high evasion, so a character's hit needs to in-turn be extremely high.

@@xZargxx true, but unless you have over 180 to ur hit score, youll miss, and they will most likely run away. And that just wastes time IMO. Farming in the canyon is always 12 AP, 1000 exp, wizard stones and..the potential to get Regen Rings which refine into 20 full cures

@@tasselhoff1293 All of Squall's weapons have max HIT, and therefore do not miss. When farming AP, it does not matter who gets the kill, just as long as one goes down. If i remember correctly Triple and Haste are really good if not the best to junction for HIT. Also Selphie's ultimate weapon, Strange Vision, has max hit.

@DaenQuinn You don't bring someone who doesn't have 180 HIT. Cactuars give an abysmal amount of experience, so theres no point in trying to use everyone. With Squall and Selphie with their respective weapons, and the third party member with 180 HIT, it is totally worth it. Just junction all the GFs on your current party members, the ones able to actually hit, and all GFs will recieve AP. Yes, there are situations where only one Cactuar will spawn and he will run away, but other times there are multiple Cactuars, and if you are fast enough (Junction to SPD) you can down multiple enemies and receive even more AP. The most you can get at Lollapalooza Canyon is 12 AP per battle, which take longer than 20 secs once you start getting to the higher levels. You wont gain levels at Cactuar Island, so their speed will never go up as long as you remain the same level. My original point was Cactuar Island is better for AP farming, and with the right setup it is most certainly. Especially for low levels games.

I managed to b break enemies, but still got exp. Why ? edit: ok it worked, but only if I cast it as a spell. if I used it as a status attack with my weapon i'll get exp even if I do low damage that won't actually kill an enemy. Lame.

Status magic only worth to get are sleep , confuse , berserk and death . Junction 4 of these to st def and no die against enemy. About st atk , pain is good choice but any will work no different at all .pain is good for luck j too
