→ 16:25 "We can't send any beaver down there, that's not safe" - Even if you would accept the risk, as long as the building is flooded, it won't work. One option here is to just build a single bad water pump to get the bad water out. (Also, your centrifuge could start working already.) Ah, done at 19:23. → 37:05 "That took much longer than expected" - for us viewers it was only a few minutes time-lapsed, for the beavers it was most of two cycles. And it was not for lack of dirt (you got 1k dirt in storage at the end). If you want to build these megaprojects faster, two measures help (best combined): →1. Get some storages for the building material (here: dirt piles) nearby the construction place, set to "obtain" and prioritized by haulers. This way your haulers can bring the material there (with their carrying bonus), and the builders can just go back and forth to the pile. Build new piles as you progress. →2. Build some scaffolding. That allows building multiple dirt blocks in parallel. As done here, you only had two dirt blocks (one on each bulding front) in progress most of the time, as each depends on either the one below, or the column before it to be finished, and your colony only can start sending builders to the next one when the previous one is finished. Having a row of platforms parallel to the wall makes it possible for many blocks to be in progress (which includes "a beaver is assigned to work on it"), and thus gives much more efficient use of your builders.

I think it was under a minute time lapsed the way I edited it, but yeah, it took a while. I do typically build out scaffolding and place some storage on obtain for my truly big projects. This one didn't even register as "big" for me though, which tells you something about the size of some other projects I've taken on in the past (and have planned for this series!). ;)

One observatory does the work of 13.33 inventors (=10/0.75). Or if you compare for the same 4 beaver workforce, the observatory does 3.33x as much research per hour as 4 inventors.

no doubt the observatory cranks out more research per beaver. But since it also requires power, there are other costs to consider (building the power generators, do those use labor or logs or water?). I'd love to really work through it all and see what is absolutely the most cost effective in terms of resources and labor. This sort of thing is what keeps me coming back to Timberborn :)
