A little back story. I’ve had a 2001 pathfinder sitting for about 5 years. 250k miles all stock everything works. I was about to sell it but after watching my 2 year old grandson getting down and dirty with me washing it and changing oil,filters.wiper etc.. I think I’m going to keep it and fix it up and give it to him. This vehicle is much different than my 2020 4Runner. First what lift kit do I get. What Tires and wheels do I get the bigger the better. The clearance on the pathfinder seems super low. I’ll be changing out the motor and tranny next month. Replacing all the mechanical components too. There’s no rust so I think it’ll stay original paint. It’s just weird look parts there’s not that much available. Thank bro

Yes. Kings from Australia are always yellow as far as I’ve seen. The other king suspension company (baby/powder blue) don’t support the R50 anyhow.

Hey Tyler, I’ve watched several of your videos and they are very helpful for Pathfinder owners. I’m considering of buying a good looking 2000 Pathfinder for mild off-road driving lessons for my kids. My question is, can I buy a set of 2” lift kit from Europe by your knowledge? Ordering from US is expensive and time consuming. BR Ivan.
@208Tyler3 жыл бұрын
I live in the US and am only familiar with sourcing parts to here. That being said, dobinson, OME, and likely TJM, King, and Ironman may do shipping to Europe

Could you add spacers to the 2inch from 4x4 parts? While still staying safe
@208Tyler4 жыл бұрын
No, I would never recommend that setup. Even AC + 1” is difficult and too much in most circumstances. Keep it at 2.5” suspension lift or less. SFD’s are the only reasonable way to add lift on top of a 2” suspension lift
@kanevivalakane36992 жыл бұрын
Hi. I am going to install IMS suspension with 2" lift and 30mm spacers. My tire size is 265/65/R17 I hope this is sufficient to prevent any rollovers.
@208Tyler2 жыл бұрын
Just do the dobinsons without the spacer
@kanevivalakane36992 жыл бұрын
@@208Tyler 2" lift will not increase the centre of gravity? So to avoid rollover risks, 30MM hub centric spacers would be needed.
@208Tyler2 жыл бұрын
@@kanevivalakane3699 Sorry, I thought you meant suspension spacers. If you're worried about rollover risk, don't lift the vehicle.... You don't need spacers to make the vehicle safe. More people get into crashes and have problems due to spacer failure than rollover due to lifting a vehicle

Hey Tyler, how did you deal with the lack of power in the R50 engine, I have a 2004 and it really lacks power which really turns me off when it comes to spending any money on it for lifts or anything like that.
@208Tyler4 жыл бұрын
If we’re being honest, the VQ35DE has as much or more power than any other gas/petrol vehicle that it’s competing against. It’s an old car, you can regear your 2004 to HG46 diffs like I did, but that’s about it. If that doesn’t cut it for you, sounds like you need a newer vehicle or perhaps your engine is in disrepair. I take this thing 1400 miles across the country twice a year cruising at 80-85 mph.
@ThanxBeToGod3 жыл бұрын
Then go out and get you a 700hp turbo diesel and the six figure price tag to go with it. If you want speed, the R50 isn't your rig.

So with the land rover springs in the rear you're going to need a 1 inch lift in the front to offset the rear being taller right? I got the heavier load spring so there isn't much drop
@208Tyler4 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you’re getting at specifically, or which front springs we’re talking about, or which Land Rover part number in the rear. It’s difficult to level on any Land Rover lift with springs only. My AC / 9449 setup has about 1.25” of rake. No matter the front spring / spacer combo, you’d likely have to cut a coil on the Land Rover springs to be perfectly level.
@cbtech4 жыл бұрын
@@208Tyler im running the NRC9448 with the 225lbs spring rate which is giving me just over a 2 inch lift. So my question is if I were to get one of the suggested front coils id presumably need a 1 inch space in the front to offset so much rake, right?
@208Tyler4 жыл бұрын
You’re never gonna level a 9448, that’s a 3-4” Springs. On anything other than an AC coil, you will likely be able to get away with a 1” spacer in the front, but you may need to let the spring settle first. Even then, you will probably have 2” of rake

If planning on a 100lb steel winch-ready bumper, are AC Heavy Duty coils still required or would one of these OME style coils suffice?
@208Tyler4 жыл бұрын
Don’t buy the AC “Heavy Duty coils”, those are OME coils that they mask the brand on. You want the 2” lift coils. It depends on what your looking for. Technically, stock springs suffice for a steel winch bumper....... Generally, the stiffer the spring, the less it will sag under the weight of a bumper. If you’re trying to get the highest lift with a bumper, go with the highest lifting spring
@JC-er1ll4 жыл бұрын
@@208Tyler any suggestions for the 2" coils? Not a fan of AC prices, but are they the only option?
@208Tyler4 жыл бұрын
@@JC-er1ll They are the only option if you don't want to stack a spacer on a different coil
@ThanxBeToGod3 жыл бұрын
Tyler, would you please share some more info about those AC coils other than the link where you bought them? $77 shipping is robbery. I get packages of equal weight for a lot less money, or free. If they put that shipping price into the springs and then sold them as "free shipping" I woulda bought them. LOL. But to flat out say "$77 Shipping".... HARD PASS.
@208Tyler3 жыл бұрын
I have shared more about them. Thes are the coils that are on my own vehicle. This video covers them the most directly: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmHalnWbba9obtU In summary, they're the only front lift springs that provide a true 2" lift. This comes at the cost of a harsher ride compared to something like an OME spring, and this coil induces the most "top out" of any coil, since its the stiffest. This also means that this coil sags the least under the weight of a front bumper and winch, compared to a softer, lower lifting coil like OME or dobinson. 4x4 parts is based out of Florida, the closer you live to there the cheaper shipping is. Idaho was about $70 shipping as well. But, these springs gave me as much lift as a OME + 1" spacer setup ($180+ $ front spacers $), and will sag less should I ever get a front bumper (I might).
@ThanxBeToGod3 жыл бұрын
@@208Tyler Now Tyler, you and I both KNOW you're getting that front bumper AND winch. Who you tryna kid bruh?
@208Tyler3 жыл бұрын

Regardless of money, I feel like this is a pretty comfortable stopping spot for this rig.
