More RC Goodies from Buyee - Small Haul

Another box from Buyee, this time a smaller one! I went for one kit in particular and when I won that the rest followed along to justify the shipping! LOL!! I have been good lately as I have just been watching the auctions and not bidding on anything, at least for now!
You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all the great comments and questions from everyone. Really enjoying talking to you all in the comments section.

So I am now aware that the Kyosho buggy is the ZX Sport model wearing a ZX-R body shell. Thanks to the knowledgeable folks that helped identify it. It is still in great shape and should make for a great running buggy still so I am not mad at all. Thanks guys for the help with it!!

Thanks James! I need to simmer down on the shopping though. I am happy to say I have been logged into buyee for weeks now and I have not bid on a single thing. I am watching dozens of items all the time but I have done well and resisted the urge to bid on anything yet. I am trying to use that will-power stuff folks talk about. Thanks Dirk! I think I got a great deal on the M-05 as on part of the chassis was replaced with a regular black section. I don't care as once the body goes on you can't see it anyways. It is odd that one section was different but it was well worth it just for all the upgrade parts alone!

It was a good little haul. Sadly I was informed from other keen eyed viewers that the buggy is the the Sport version and not the R version. I am not made but I will have to get the right body and decals for it as I cannot have it false advertising! LOL! It is still going to make a great project car and be fun out on the track!

Thanks Steve! It turns out the ZXR may not be a true ZXR and might be a sheep in wolf's clothing. It might be either a ZX Sport wearing a ZXR body or a hodge-podge rebuild from various kits. Either way it will make for a fun project car. I just have to figure out what I have here! LOL

Thank Bob, it was a pretty good score and the motor seems really nice! Being tucked in there so tight it is in perfect shape and looks like it was run maybe once or twice! Buyee can be a bit tricky to navigate. Bing a Japanese site it is not super simple to search as they don't necessarily list them with keywords so sometimes your searches come up lacking. Send me a message with what you are looking for and I can see if I can find it for you.

Thanks! I tried to not go overboard this time and restrain myself from filling another giant box! I did good for what I got and I think the M-05 will be a fun one. The Kyosho needs some attention but should still be a great little project. I have found out through help of others that it appears I got a ZX sport wrapped in a ZX-R body but it still should be a great buggy. The motor would probably sell on eBay for close to what I paid for the whole buggy! The toe is feeling almost normal today and that make me happy! I have been working on a new build most of the day so still giving it a break. Take care guys and have a great rest of your weekend!

It is in great shape but it may be a sheep in wolfs clothing! It was pointed out that the chassis and shocks are wrong and are from a Sport. I realized after the video was shot the shocks are wrong, they should be the gold shocks. I did not catch that the chassis on this one is solid and the the ZX-R had the slots for the saddle packs. So I am not sure if this was a rebuild with whatever parts they had on hand or if it was a sport they put the ZX-r body on. Either way it will make a great project car and Should be a fun one to drive so I am not disappointed. I just have to figure out exactly what I got here now!

Thanks! The Kyosho is pretty cool but I have come to learn I got a ZX Sport wrapped up in a ZX-R body shell. It is still in great shape and should run like a champ once I get whatever is wonky in the rear worked out so I am not mad at it! I am not all that well versed in the differences in all the Kyosho kits so I missed a few key things. The shocks should be the gold shocks and the chassis would have the cutouts for saddle packs if it were the ZX-R. I still got it for a good price and the motor alone on eBay would sell for about what I paid for the whole buggy so it is still a win!

Nice haul Addam. I've got that Jimny body on a Wild Willy chassis. Will also work well of a GF-01. The wheelbase is too short for a CW-01. Have fun with it all my friend 😁👍

Yeah, I am on the lookout for a really cheap chassis from Buyee for it. I see the WW2 come up fairly often for around $50-70 so I am hoping one comes up with a busted body and I might be able to snag it for around $30-40!! I really had not plans for it other than "Oh that is super cheap"!! LOL A financial genius I am not! LOL!

Thanks John, the Lazer might end up being a mash up of parts, seems like the chassis and shocks are wrong for the ZX-R so I am not sure 100% what I have but it is still a great project! I cleaned it up quickly and looks much better but it will get the full once over when I get back to it and get it all fixed up! Going on Buyee may put a hurting on the wallet, too many things to choose from and lots of deals! Take care my friend and have a great weekend!

I was very surprised to see the nice motor in there! It looks broken in at best and should make it a fun drive once it is fixed up. I do like the wheels, they are just rather yellow. Some peroxide will get the brightened back up.

Thats a great looking buggy you got there Addam and for that price you cant go wrong really. Some other nice bits and pieces too! I did look into Buyee, but the annoying thing for me as a new user is that nearly every listing I have looked at restricts it to people who already have at least 10 positive feedback. You can understand why as you get more genuine buyers, but on the other side, I don't want to have to waste money on at least 10 random things I don't want before I can get what I need. Oh well, mini rant over 😂

Thank Tony! I am finding out it may be either a sport wearing a ZXR body or a part lot rebuild at some point in the past using whatever they had. The shocks and lower chassis is from the sport. Either way it is a good project buggy and I just have to figure out what I have! LOL! I still get blocked from bidding on items so I can completely feel your pain! Hi Addam, the chassis on the ZX-r looks wrong, should be frp with saddle pack holes. The chassis looks like the one from the Sport version. Also the shocks look to be sport. The ZXr came with gold shocks, similar to the mid but longer. Motor is mint. 👌

I did not even notice that! I know it seems to have been rebuilt at some point a long time ago as some of the screws on the bottom have scratches in them yet the chassis has none and the replacement of the shocks and the wheels is odd for something run once or twice and put on a shelf for many years. Maybe it was rebuilt using cheaper parts or a Sport with a donor body on it. I will have to look into it a bit closer. Thanks for the heads up on the chassis. I am not well versed in these!

Well it turns out that the buggy is actual the ZX Sport and not the R version. I don't know enough about them but it was pointed out by others the chassis should have the saddle packs cut-outs and the shocks should be gold for the R version among other harder to spot changes. I am not mad, it is still going to be a great buggy, I will just have to get the correct body and decals on it, I can't be false advertising! The M chassis is loaded and it should be a fun one to zoom around a larking lot with once I get that built up! Be careful if you go to buyee, it can be addicting! LOL!

To remove rust I use Apple cider vinegar and a bit of bicarb soda. It works a treat I jist done a refresh on my old nitro buggy using that and autosol plastic polish. She looks brand new apart from the undertray😂

Thanks for the tip! Thankfully it is just the links mainly so it should be pretty quick to take care of. I did a quick wipe down of everything before sticking it on the shelf in queue to get worked on and it looks a lot better already!

I even use the apple cider vinegar on ball joints it works well and better than a wire wheel I think 🤔 as the rust has not returned. I just finished my Candy Green Grasshopper today, so tomorrow it's going for a test run as it's night time here and raining hard in Malaysia.

Yes, the very same box you got! LOL! Yeah, I will leave everything in the car as long as it all works. I should be able to swap the crystals to run it with one of my Futaba radios I have so it can stay as is. It was a small box this time around but still some neat stuff. The M05 should be fun and it is loaded with hop-ups. Some shocks, electronics and a body set and it should be a zippy and fun little thing! The Kyosho buggy was a a bit of a trick. It is actually ZX Sport buggy with the ZX-R body on it. It is still in great shape and should be a fun on out on the track. I have already found a seller on eBay that has new belts for it so I will probably go ahead and get a set, they are fairly cheap, to have piece of mind running it. I am also hoping the wonkiness in the rear end is just a bad belt in the transmission. I really don't mess around with estimating the shipping. I just get stuff and once I think it is a decent box worth I consolidate it all and the shipping is what it is what is. I know a large box like the other loads is close to $150-200 and a box this size is around $75-100. That included the additional packaging fee as well for the extra bubble wrap. There are so many variables I don't even try, I just guesstimate and hope I highball it! LOL!

I noticed it as well and I think that is a Japan thing. I have seen it done on full sized race cars and show cars from japan before and it makes no sense to me still. It is like they mirrored it but mirrored it incorrectly. I am also not exactly sure what I have. It may be a ZX Sport wrapped in a ZXR shell or a hodge-podge of parts from a rebuild a long time ago. The chassis pan and the shocks are not correct for the ZXR . It is still a great project car, I am just hoping whatever is wrong in the rear is not a big deal, may be just a bad belt.

I only have one left, I still have my Ofna Ravager buggy. I used to have several but got tired of the mess and parts breaking! I have sent the others off to new homes but the Ravager I cannot part with. I still enjoy watching the nitro cars and trucks and do sometimes miss the sounds and smells but electric is so much more convenient and they don't get near as messy!
