SHINee actually debuted in 2008 but the video was remastered and uploaded to KZbin in 2012

Actually the original "Replay" MV was reuploaded to SM's new KZbin Channel in 2011 when the company rebranded themselves and moved most of their content from their SM Ent YT channel to their new SMTown channel. (BTW their old SM ENT channel still exists and you can find some of the company's old videos and content that most people aren't even aware exists, on that channel.) However, the "Replay" MV wasn't remastered until 2021 as part of SM's remastered project where they chose one of their classic older MVs each month for a year and remasted it and added subtitles.

Actually, SHINEE debuted in 2008 *and this song is their debut song* but the MV get remastered and re-uploaded on KZbin. *The member you keep mentioning is **5:31** JONGHYUN 'ONE OF THE BEST VOCALIST' ON HIS (2ND) GENERATION. Sadly, he died on 2017 ❤️🩹🕊️. He also a great songwriter/lyricist, he writes his own songs & some of EXO's early songs (2015) and ofc, to his own group and also for other artists like LEE HI song BREATH for example*

SHINee's "Replay," which came out May 25, 2008 is literally considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist still today because it's so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. And this is why SHINee are Icons. This song actually came out more than 16 years ago, however, SM Entertainment rebranded itself and started its new KZbin channel in 2011. The company reuploaded most of their older videos at that time. So, all their older MVs and content have a 2011 date, but could be much older than that. This MV was part of SM's special remaster project, where they company would pick one of its classic older MVs each month for a year and remaster it to up the quality of the video and to add subtitles, so -- although SM is known for not having subs on their MVs that came out before 2018 -- you were lucky enough to have English subtitles on this video now. Just so you know, only the video is remastered, but the song is exactly how it was when they debuted. Just check out their debut showcase and then watch a live concert performance and you will discover that it sounds exactly the same. "Replay" isn't just nostalgic, it's legendary. And SHINee are legends. Every new rookie group in the industry has covered "Replay" at least once in their career and it's one of those songs that is pretty much compulsory for everyone to know and learn, even still today. It's one of the most covered songs of all time. And, yes, of course SHINee have great voices. As an SM group, we shouldn't expect any less. You can't be SM artists without having amazing vocal abilities. Even SM's rappers get intense vocal training. That is why SM is considered the vocal powerhouse of the industry, because ALL of its artists have out-of-this-world vocal abilities. Not only are all the members of SHINee amazing singers, but they are the original vocal kings. EXO now may be considered "the vocal kings of Kpop", but SHINee were the ones that showed the industry what it meant to be vocalists. From day one, SHINee's main vocalists, Onew and Jonghyun, have been two of the top vocalists in the entire industry, and SHINee as a group make up one of the best vocal groups of all time. As rookies Jonghyun and Onew were even vocal coaches and mentors to a lot of trainees, including several of the EXO members. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee were designed to be SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to create the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's supposed to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. They reinvent the industry with every new release, even still today. Onew* (pronounce Oh-New or On-New with a Korean accent) is the one in the hat, Jonghyun is the one with the headphones, Key is the one in green, Minho is the one playing basketball (he is always the tallest member) and Taemin is the one in yellow. *Onew sounds like the Korean characters for soft and gentle, so Lee JinKi was given the stage name Onew because he has a very calm, soft and gentle personality. He is known for his smile and for always having a bright and positive attitude. When SHINee debuted, Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and a songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14. However, now SHINee are known for the fact that there are no longer any fixed roles in their group. The main vocalists can rap, the rappers can fill in as main vocalists and they're all impressive dancers. All the members can pretty much take over any role in their group. SHINee are some of the most well-respected artists in the industry. Minho is the main rapper, so for his part of the song what you heard was a smooth rap. (His rap was blended in with the harmonies in the song and was often heard in the background throughout the song, etc.) With SHINee's experimental concept, they never do the same thing twice, which even includes Minho's rap. Minho is one of the most diverse rappers in the kpop industry because his rap style will be different for every song. And, because he writes almost all of his rap parts in all his songs starting after their debut, he specifically designs his rap style to fit the style and genre of the song. The Noona (the older girl SHINee have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is the leader of their sister group***, Victoria from F(x). This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted, so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is, Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.) Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Noona neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words, they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you, I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Noona neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Noona neomu yeppeo is a term that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term, so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Noona neomu yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs, the older women in the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them, even still today. This song makes all the women swoon. (Even 15/16 years later, when Taemin appeared on The Manager reality show, the female hosts of the show asked him to sing "Replay" to them.) ***SHINee and F(x) are both SM Entertainment groups, they debuted within a year of each other, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups ;( ) and they have similar music styles and concepts, etc. F(x) is pretty much the female version of SHINee. Fun fact: SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group. Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag they needed in order to be taken seriously as a hip-hop group. So, right before their debut, SM switched up their sound and style to "Replay," and the SHINee members spent a few intense weeks working on their vocal abilities in order to be able to match the skills needed for a vocal heavy song like this. And the rest is history. As you just heard, this is SHINee's signature classic contemporary R&B vocals they are now known for. As you can see by their "Replay" MV, even at 14, Taemin was one of the best dancers in Kpop, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work, that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years. He has now been nicknamed the Korean Michael Jackson. Along with EXO's Kai, Taemin is considered one of the top two best dancers of all dancers in the the Kpop industry. SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. From day one they became known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. When they debuted they were one of the only groups who were singing live while performing this intense choreography. And everyone was so shocked with their abilities. Which is even more impressive because they were one of the youngest groups to debut at the time. The ONLY thing the SHINee members are not good at is lip syncing, therefore, they avoid it at all costs. When you hear SHINee singing, 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. So, unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to build endurance and stamina in order to be able to sing live and continue to sound flawless while performing like this for more than 3 hours straight in concert. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach. You should also check out SHINee's "Replay" dance practice, kzbin.info/www/bejne/naeZYaGIaMRpb7c. It's not an official dance practice video because dance practice videos didn't become a thing until 2010 when SHINee released the very first dance practice video for their song "Lucifer," but it's a real dance practice video from way back to SHINee's debut days. SHINee are the reason why Kpop groups produce dance practice/choreography videos today. SHINee just recently talked about how they spent months as trainees practicing this choreography in order to get it down perfectly. During Taemin's appearance on The Manager, we see all 4 of the SHINee members in the dance studio practicing for their "Hard" comeback last year, as well as preparing for their SHINee World Concert VI (SWC6), and they talk about what it was like when they were trainees learning the dance.

The vocalist u kept mentioning is Jonghyun, he's the member who passed away. His vocals are insane. Hope u check his solo stuff! Taemin is indeed the one u called the main dancer with the cute bowl cut. SHINee choreos are really exhausting and really crazy but they always managed/manage to sound so good live.

shinee debuted in 2008 with replay. The group is made up of 5 members (at the time of their debut the various members were aged between 14 and 18). The wonderful voice that struck you is that of Jonghyun (unfortunately he came missing in 2017) was a singer, radio DJ, composer, musician ... his voice is still considered one of the 5 most beautiful voices of the k-pop .Taemin was 14 years old at the time of his debut and is the boy who dances alone towards the end of the video.
@tokki_bunch26 күн бұрын
Yup, there's five! Age order is Onew (leader, oldest) -> Jonghyun -> Key -> Minho -> Taemin (youngest). Onew and Jonghyun were 18 in this, Key and Minho were 16, and Taemin was 14. So yeah, basically babies! A really good introductory SHINee performance (because they say their names at the end, lmao) is Excuse Me Miss. :) And if you want to see some iconic SHINee choreo, check out Everybody in Tokyo Dome or Don't Call Me.

As others have said, Replay actually came out in 2008! The members you guys pointed out for having mature vocals are Jonghyun, Key and Onew. Maybe you two should check out something a little later in their career, like Dream Girl, Married to the Music or 1of1!

Do any other Shawols lowkey get annoyed when people react to Replay and think it's from 2012 (not the reactors fault!)? A brief google or mini-guide is required when reacting to SHINee I think.
