GEs are not bad; they allow you to take classes that you are interested it and expand your knowledge. I hate Marshall's Humanities GE but I ended up loving the class I took and got an A.

uh actually its the other way around. u need 6A and 6B of gen chem before you can take the 7L lab. and i hope you took a lot of units beforehard, but just so you know, there are 23-24 seats overall per lab section.

I can't figure how anyone would choose UCSD over UCLA. The prestige of UCLA is 100x that of USCD. However, UCSD is next in line after Berkeley and UCLA though.

musingmike88 Prestige isn't everything. The point is for you to find a college that suits your character and some people (like me) prefer UCSD over Berkeley and UCLA.
