We need to get Cale Gundy back in a recruiting manager or analyst
@Del-Scent18 сағат бұрын
Cale doesn't want to come back. Teddy and Gabe touched on that recently with Cale on the Oklahoma breakdown. He was quick to say he's happy with what he's doing. I dont think Cale is big on NIL and Transfer Portal with the way they are now. He indicated they needed some parameters and rules in place.

I've learned in life, crazy things happen, all the time. If it was strictly a recruiting job, I think he might consider it. But I have heard him say he's enjoying life

Past offensive coordinators did not bring their guys to the team with Stoops. I don't think it'll be an issue for the staff to teach Arbuckle's stuff, as was the case with previous coordinators. I imagine some of them (e.g., Bedenbaugh) knew the concepts prior to Arbuckle's knowledge of them.

Who determines who is on the field by position? Does Murray, Bedenbaugh, and Emmett Jones determine this, or does the offensive coordinator? This makes a big difference, because Jones and Murray are terrific recruiters.

The only one that's not going where is Bill. Joe John has to go probably to a group of five team to become offensive coordinator or to another program to learn from another offensive coordinator type head coach if he wants to continue his coaching journey into an OC . I don't know if the wide receiver coach will do much he may be the one that you bring in if I'm a offensive coordinator that's the guy I want to bring in as an offensive. But you're not going to fire him until you get everybody signed. DeMarco might go to the pros but I doubt if he goes to a different program. That will allow the OC to bring in the tight end guy and or the wide receiver guy. But I think part of the reason he hires this young 29 year old is the fact that this guy doesn't have a massive long tail of the coaching tree to bring with him. Was to make it easier and not have to fire any assistance that just was a mistake
@robertcapps36511 сағат бұрын
Dude anybody from our coaching staff gets hired for a oc anywhere I'll shit and fall back in it. Maybe get hired at a small high school team maybe. I would tell everybody on our offensive staff maybe they should switch to be a defensive coaching they could turn in the numbers from our offense this year and probably a coach didn't know better would think dam that's one hell of a defensive coordinator
@michaelhapgood78218 сағат бұрын
Joe John Finley has to go. Arbuckle could very well bring a coach or two with him and a couple of players. The players, QB RS/S John Mateer, and a RS/S TE. Andre Dollar. Dollar was the #31 TE in 2022. He comes from Mustang Oklahoma. Finley never even offered him or even talked to him. He missed on another one this year the #12 TE from Washington OK.

We have gotta get better in recruiting, Oklahoma needs to start throwing a bag at these top 20 prospects like other schools. I’m done with all these in state 3 stars. We need to recruit like an Alabama, Georgia, Ohio state etc.. bc that is literally what we are.

Your comment is half-accurate. DM is a stud recruiter, no doubt. He falls short on player development. Name his two best running backs that have had impact seasons. Kennedy Brooks and Eric Gray (Tennessee Transfer). That's really it. That's not a good batting average. I love the guy, but honestly, I don't think he has been elite overall. IMHO.
