Nice use of the tarp, it is always good to know how to do more than one setup for a shelter.

i know this is an old video, dave, but i'm just catching up on your various videos and just wanted to say that it's (yet another) terrific video by you. also, your son did a terrific job as your helper and seems to have a great attitude, you guys did a wonderful job raising him. :-)

Another great vid David ! Years ago I used tarps like that. I've since gone to an ultilite tent. But you know I think I got more enjoyment out of the tarp!

Rico.. Thanks for that comment.. it is appreciate. We would like to do longer shots as well.. but it was very windy that day.. If the camera wasn't close to me all you would hear was white noise. We will try to keep this in mind on later videos :) Thanks again for your support!

I really enjoy watching your videos. They are informative and interesting. The thing I like the most though, is how calm your voice is and how you treat your family with such respect....389Lee

Terry.. These are the Poly Tarps.. and most decent ones can be used for a hammock. Perhaps I'll do a video on that for you :)

I'll have to try this Saturday night. Thanks for the how to.

I do only have a lightweight-tarp, compared to this heavy polytarp, but its very similar to my DD-Hammock, materialwise. So, I would say, yes, it can be used as a hammock, too. just as long as you know what you are doing and how to set it up. hey, the idea is so good, im gonna try it :-)

Good video. are tarps strong enough to use as a hammock?

Hamm.. You can only find the "Tarp Clips" (Google that) online as far as I know. They will work with 2 layers.. but generally are better with a single layer.

Joe.. You can look them up online.. that's the only place that I know of

Dave As always another informative video. Also good luck filling in for Dave C. you will do great. When you started the naked into the woods I text Dave C. and said you were a friend so I guess like minds think alike. My only request is that you shorten your intro a bit. Otherwise keep up the great work.

did it ever occur to you, rather than worrying about your ego and showing nothing but close-ups of you, it might help to pull the camera back and show the tarp? "Pride is before a crash and a haughty spirit before stumbling" Proverbs 16: 18

Perhaps it's not ego that drives me friend. You know nothing about me.. and that's ok. I'm not here to judge you.. as you are not here to judge me. Those who truly know me.. understand me.. and My Father understands me.. and my heart.
