Someone who breaks the immigration laws is liable to be punished and can be deported regardless of how long one has been in the USA. It is surprising, then, how some people are advocating that those who violate immigration laws should be spared. Our immigration system is broken, and if both Republican and Democratic administrations had effectively addressed the issue of illegal immigration, we would not be in this situation today. Both sides of the political aisle are culpable for exploiting cheap, undocumented labor to fill their own pockets. While I sympathize with the harsh treatment that some undocumented individuals face, it is important to remember that they were aware of the risks when they chose to cross the border illegally. Moving forward, the only viable solution is for Democrats and Republicans to come together and pass a sensible immigration policy. This policy should include a pathway to legal status for some who have been here for decades went to school and are a productive part of society, particularly DACA recipients. Additionally, industries that rely heavily on immigrant labor, such as agriculture, food services, and construction, should have a say in shaping stricter immigration policies that also consider their workforce needs. Furthermore, no birthright citizenship for illegal alien kids, and lastly chain migration policies should be abolished, and only those who can contribute productively to American society should be allowed to immigrate.

Ohh nooo! You mean we'll have to do without chimichangas for a whole week!! 😱 Here's what will likely happen: The restaurants will lose a week's worth of income and will look like fools when they open back up again and nothing has changed.

Nah, what'll likely happen is reasonable civil minded people will flood the business with support. The sad part is too many Latinos either sat out or voted for their own misfortune.

@@TeeroyHammermill Nah, a good number will stop going to these places for good. Some folks are forgetting that more people voted for the orange man those that did not.
