More Than Bass | Moog Minitaur Melodic Patches

A rather quick one. I usually prefer demoing poly synths, but this was fun.
I have had this little box for a couple of months now and I felt like I did not push it hard enough out of its comfort zone, so I decided to explore the "limited" sound palette and approach it more like a lead synth. Of course, since it is a dedicated bass synth, the main limitation is the oscillator range and there is nothing you can do about it.
Well, I ended up with quite more than just a bass. Probably my favorite Moog core sound so far.
Decided to keep a minuscule amount of reverb there, to make the tails sweeter, but not to drench it too much.

I'll definitely get one of these. For the second sound (around 42 seconds), did you use the phones out to drive the filter or what? That saturation is soooo nice

Thanks! That drive effect is actually the LFO going really fast. Both on the pitch and cutoff IIRC. You can grab patches I made in the pinned comment response. The one I started with for this particular sound is called Duster, so you can explore it for yourself ))

Well, there is no guide to exploring, that is the best part! I suggest building a midi sequence first, feeding it to the Minitaur, and playing around with the knobs until you find something you like, if you are not yet sure what you want. Yeah, that is right. Most of the sounds are made via the editor since there are some extra bells and whistles :)

I read some where it is limited going beyond C4 is it true ?

Yeah that is true. Basically, the oscillators are of different design than in any other synth because of the deep bass . It would not hold pitch right in the higher registers, based on what Moog had stated.
