I don't think there is any status gap between Sakura and Naruto. Sakura is a high-profile ninja as well, being the disciple of 5th Hokage, head of medical department, and they must have met regularly for works. Naruto is just her superior (because he's the head of village), but not someone far beyond the reach.

What annoyed me about Sakura was that she kept thinking of herself better than many others, especially Naruto and degraded him whenever she got the chance, she'd never let any idle comment he made pass unchallenged, screaming at him, while he was embarassed as a result, knocked out at best. She only got away with it, because he liked her in the first place (which is super sad that he kept clinging to that). I never understood why people shipped Naruto with her, she was just awful as a child (where the ship originated), but what was so great about her back than? Her pink hair and hard nipples for Sasuke? After Shippuden she is a much better character... turns out all you need to do to make Sakura likeable is tone down her bitchiness and it worked like a charm. If I hadn't seen part 1 and Shippuden I would have never connected that Sakura with the one we see in Naruto the Last and in Boruto. She is calm, mature (duh) and over all a joy when she is on screen, but she is kinda bending the truth when she says she was instantly "family" with Naruto and Sasuke after they became a team. She kept giving him shit for no reason any chance she got back than, and then had the nerve to beg him to help her. Then again she is a fucking 12 year old in part 1 and 15-16 in Shippuden. She has grown a lot.

Richard Lloyd Not "instantly" family I guess, but they were a bit like siblings. I honestly never minded her beating him up that much (I mean if no one in the anime took it seriously or found it disturbing, why should I?), but it did feel pretty unnecessary. She rarely did so in the manga. They're crazy if they think she'll look funny when she beats him up and belittles him all the time. Either they dont care about their fanbase or they're just dumb.

It was a cheap move to have her punch him bloody all the time and it was old after the 3rd time she did it (its a bad anime cliche overall in my opinion, or shouldn't be overused, maybe once per series if you really have to and are out of ideas). That also didn't help make her appealing to the fanbase. In the novels she is far more interesting (since she's really involved and it doesn't seem so tacked on like much of the bullshit powerups in the later war arc seemed: her yin-seal, and Naruto and Sasuke getting half of the sage of six paths power...somehow from his chakra projection... sure whatever, same with Kushina and Minato being able to imprint chakra ghosts of themselves into Naruto for some reason while dying).

She is pretty cool in the novels (vs the pseudo Jinchuuriki, they should animate that), basically everything after Shippuden, but the fight against Kaguya was so forced (also Impossible, since Kaguya should absorb the chakra punches rendering them normal strength but whatever, suddenly tsunade and sakura's chakra control melee (remember only works on their hands and feet where they expell chakra, creating a concussive force by expelling that chakra at the enemy explosively) works like the 8 gates, spreading chakra internally somehow... completely throwing out how the jutsu worked. All you needed to do to make Sakura likeable is tone down her bitchiness (she constantly berated and emasculated Naruto, him getting punched got old the third time it happened back in part 1 and that Kishi kept using that for cheap cringe humor is what pissed me off the most). I really disliked earlier Sakura, not because she was "useless" after all how would she compete with Naruto (basically infinite chakra, could summon Gamabunta as a fucking child and make hundreds of clones in his 0 tails state) and a fucking Uchiha with cursemark and (apparently) infinite talent. What annoyed me about Sakura was that she kept thinking of herself better than many others, especially Naruto and degraded him whenever she got the chance, she'd never let any idle comment he made pass unchallenged, screaming at him, while he was embarassed as a result, knocked out at best. the sage of the life And yet for every of these examples of Sakura either being not petty or the 2 times she risked herself for him, there are 5 insensitive and embarrassing comments and 1-2 fucked up punches coming per every other episode. The amount of times Naruto risked himself for her is also a lot higher. But i had not in mind talling up good deeds to argue whether Sakura supported him (few and far between though as you showed). What I was arguing is that she was a terrible friend: bullying him every chance she got (the only reason its funny is because Naruto is the most thick skinned and forgiving guy in the show: he forgives Sasuke, Pain (killed Jiraya and did so before Pain revived the hundreds of Shinobi he killed Konoha, like Kakashi), hell he forgave Obito who killed his Parents (he hust failed, since Minato saved Kushina before the kyuubi on Obito‘s command, could crush her and failed to kill Minato, still both died as a direct consequence of Obito‘s actions to stop the kyuubi he unleashed). If Naruto wasn‘t like that it would be sad by how he is constantly treated by his „best friend“. Sure she pitied him now and again, and she isn‘t a monster (bullying someone/ embarrassing someone isn‘t the sane as wanting them dead or even allowing that). What I wanted to make clear is that she never ever gave him a break unless he had just saved the village or her or finally achieved his dream. Did she „support“ him? Well she stuck out her neck once, but at the same time she was confident to get the answer right: she had a very good score and is booksmart on a level entirely different to Naruto. She matured right quick as you can see in Naruto the Last, bur until the very end of Shippuden she was unecessarily disparaging (beibg verbally abused and told that being Hokage is impossible isn‘t very supportive, thankfully she stopped saying that after Sasuke told her that it was Naruto not him who saved her from Gaara).

That’s cause Sakura (and Sasuke) know how important his mission is. He literally is the ONLY one who can do it. He is basically protecting his family, the village, heck the whole shinobi universe from threats that only he can track and investigate. Some people don’t realize that even in real life, that’s how families and marriage work. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices you don’t want to do to protect your family or provide for them. Doesn’t mean they don’t love you. It just means that they gotta do what they gotta do for everyones sake. No family has perfect dynamics. Took me a while to learn that as a kid and even now that im a grown up.

I know a lot of the fandom preferred Hinata, but I'll still always wish that Naruto had ended up with Sakura. The comparisons between her & Kushina from Minato seemed fitting, and she'd really grown to love and respect him when they grew into adults together instead of being kids. I'll never see her love for Sasuke as more than an unhealthy infatuation from childhood. Never made sense to me that she could continue to feel love for him after the bad things he did after leaving Orochimaru. He was cold, heartless. I could see her forgiving him and staying friends, but to actually start up a romance? Not the sort of writing I enjoy.
