Probably one of the very best things I've ever done in my life was to go see Ella & Oscar back in 1978, when they came to the University of Minnesota and played. Also Joe Pass was playing with them-I was so young at the time, I thought these guys would always be with us, because they were larger than life. Such an amazing show, I'll never forget.

I just cry thinking that two people so pure in their love of music and so gifted in their expression not only performed together, but greatly enjoyed each other’s company while doing so

This is the most beautiful 4 minutes of music I have ever heard in my life. Absolutely breathtaking. It's sad that none of the four musical giants that created this magic are still with us. God bless them all.

How humble she is at the beginning, talking about the "frog" in her throat. Then the music starts and she leaves that place and goes into her most precious place, deep inside herself, and she brings up a seemingly self-refreshing supply of soul, love, tenderness, pain, heartbreak, loneliness, joy, and total credibility. Even more amazing than that, she expresses it all with the grace, style, and melodic and rhythmic sense of the finest improvising Jazz instrumentalist you've ever heard. I will always believe that God chooses certain people to sing for Him and he bestows upon them gifts that set them apart from everyone else. Ella Fitzgerald was one of those people.

OMGoodness!!! Thank you sooo much for uploading this brilliant performance by two of the most brilliant artists EVER! It's so sublime yet so intricate. Oscar the typical virtuoso, glides so effortlessly over the keys. And of course Ella sings like she breathes. So natural. I absolutely love everything about this! Thanks again
