Just did this to my hakko, I was shocked at how much gets by the filter. Works great now!

Indeed a lot passes by. I like to put these videos out every now and then to help reduce frustrations as a lot of new techs don't know to do this.

Helpful to have a maintenance routine to keep things functioning. Just like technicians that clean and lube their air tools before use.

Agreed! If this tool isn't working 100% it makes repairs a tad frustrating when you have to pull and clear 50+ TO247 transistors which equates to 150 plus holes.

@@ellensburgamplifier oh yeah! Fun times and beer! Not around the rails of course…. After a large repair of such, I would do a full cleaning anyway. Just because we know how dirty some manufacturers solder choice is.

Thank you for the support!

Fit a coin in the tube to take the brunt of the solder, it will extend the filter.

The FR-301 uses the B5104 filter which does a great job catching the solder. A small drop of oil on the filter helps to keep the solder from sticking to it for easy fast clean-up.
