I had a different perspective of this song when I was in 5th grade when it came out. Now, that I'm 20, and in college......I can see how this song is so deep and real. Stacie's music had been a big influence in the way I see my relationship with God and people. Right now, I feel like I have something missing, but God gives me that something more to live by.

it's the meaning of the song, as humans we always want more (most of us) than we get out of life, the feeling that there must be something better out there than what we already have. 'Temporary high' i guess would be what we are doing at the moment: the girl who has a family, the one who runs a marathon, the one who is a model, etc... dunno, i guess :)

I think she is trying to portray different roles of people like the Athlete, the Supermodel, the Housewife, the Thug, the Struggling Artist etc...is that even though all theses people live probably very different lives they all have the same feeling of wanting more out of life and feeling like something is missing from theirs, whether it may be money, more time, fame, love, I think its a sort of the grass is greener on the other side kinda concept and i really like it.
