Wanted to build one of these since I was a kid, one of my parents did their level best to discourage my 'experiments' so dry ice and flammable stuff was not obtainable but now, there's a dry ice supplier a mile or so away and I have a litre of Iso I use for cleaning boards etc, I foresee a weekend project!

Wait, you use *store-bought* dry ice?

I know. It's shameful. I feel like such an appliance operator. And there must be a LOT of CO2 just floating around out there, right? Maybe it is time for some DIY "carbon capture and cloud formation"? How are you homebrewing yours Jack? 73 Bill

@@soldersmoke Touché, fair enough - I haven't even started on a cloud chamber, much less a dry-ice maker. However, I would argue that I don't need to. Here's why: the area that I live in is nestled between the Garonne and Cirons Rivers, which differ substantially in water temperature. For most of the year, I wake up to dense fog each morning as those rivers mix. That dampness is key to the production of Sauterne wines, whch require growth of mold on the grapes. I realize this is getting a little long winded, but the point is that despite living a continual fog and occasionally partaking of such wine, I have yet to see a subatomic particles here. I will remain vigilant, however, for their appearance. 73, F4WEF/ AI4SV
