I don’t often comment because Alex’s following is so large, I don’t know that my comment will even be read, but - I just needed to say that Alex has such a gift for presentation in his videos. He takes what some might call a mundane task of a clear-out and makes it captivating and sometimes fascinating. Not everyone can do that; I’ve watched what many would-be creators put out there, and it’s not particularly interesting. One can only hope they learn from the experts like Alex! So thank you Alex!

Dyson heats and cools and filters air. Very expensive but great for allergy sufferers! My hubby has MX5 here is AUSTRALIA ( seems same as the Miata when I google it) that he purchased from an estate! That's a very good point. Whoever owned that condo was clearly a person who liked good quality stuff as well as a person who remained playful. I was wondering, given the number of duplicate items, if the person was a little forgetful, then realized many things may have been received as gifts. One year my mom dropped a hint about wanting placemats for Christmas. She got five sets. :)

I used to work in Fire and Flood restoration, and respecting the contents of anyone's home, living or dead, was a concept that we understood. We all have friends, family, and people that make our lives what they are. Human dignity is very important. That said, it is a job, and someone has to do it. It's a part of life, we don't last forever.

What nice finds today, and the Miata looks gorgeous! That early “laptop” you found actually looks like a word processor. They were computerized typewriters with a small amount of memory to allow you to spellcheck and visualize the text as you went before it was typed to paper. Word processors preceded laptops. The seemed like such advancements over electric typewriters at the time and almost eliminated the need for correction fluid or tape.

The only thing it doesn't have compared to a more modern laptop is a battery, it can only run on mains power with a built-in power supply. My husband is a auctioneer and we have done many estates even living estates where people went to retirement home. Believe me we always get someone who gives us hate whenever prices are not sold at prices they expected or someone missed what they wanted or change there mind. It is posted everywhere sold as is with no guarantee. But also know that my husband will spend time like u do to make old mowers and saws work and show them at the sale. When we clear out for a auction we will dust everything and even clean up any mess that is there. When we have a house to auction we will give our service to paint and clean house and clean carpets and landscape to get the biggest price. We will work so many hours that almost make know money if u count r hours but there always is a child or grandchild that says something. There is always one in every crowd that will shoot us down when we work so hard. And believe me we only charge what u r charged at your auction house and we do your job and auction. Just think positive that u did a service for the family and that is a big thing to take off there shoulders.

Then I gave it to my oldest son last year. It did not take much at all for him to get it running again. However, last weekend he totaled the escape by running head on into a light pole clipping it in half. Praise God my son walked away without injuries. The ford escape's are made good and sturdy.

One of my neighbours had one exactly like this, except for the hardtop. Before that she had a blue one for many years. Probably at least in her 70s, if not 80s by now she runs what's probably the country's only entomology supplies, specimen and literature store that she inherited from her father. I've never been there but even just looking through the window is fascinating. The store is purely a hobby these days, she and her son get fewer and fewer customers.

Alex, a vintage vehicle insurance lesson comes to mind as I look at the Miata and Escape! My dad’s “new” late 60’s El Camino bought in 2005-ish got stolen from in front of junkyard (while he was inside buying electric seat), later found stripped on jack stands. Dad called insurer (bad news). He had mistakenly added the El Camino to the antique / not driven car policy (liability coverage only). Lost $$$$ and his 45 year log dream to own that El Camino. 😢
