I'm going to be honest, I am more a fan of the landings when people don't know they are being watched, rather than the ones where it's viewers and those who know what you are up to

The early gear activation allows you to keep a stable vector with decoupled mode in gravity, so you could say even when it does not look cinematic it definitely allows for a smoother landing approach. I personally gear down as soon as I begin the approach with fighters (hornet) and do a navy landing :)

really good video series. thank you for sharing. one of the first things i did in sc was after understanding where hangars were, i went and watched ships take off and come in. i was blown away. literally, cinematic. naturally when you started this series i was already hooked. keep the great content coming and stay safe in the verse. cruz red. fkn a.

Love the flex in the Reclaimer gear hitting the deck though, superb.

There's something to be said about landing a fully loaded reclaimer at Orison. Sometimes I can line up, drop right in and hit a perfect landing, but other times I'm flying a brick that's dragging a boat anchor. It's almost as if the gravity is variable.

I do wish that in the future there will be space ports where you can watch the ships land and take off better from inside the space port. Like in New Babbage you can see the approach and ships flying off but like every location the ships disappear into the hangars. Maybe some future planet could have pads on the surface that after landing then get pulled underground. I can imagine being entertained just watching the traffic at some popular space port and seeing the different ways people land and take off.

Hard agree. It's one of those things that could make down time better. You're waiting on the crew pick you up... Go watch some ships come and go. I'm hoping they start adding little things to do in game like that. The race track view area at Grim Hex is a good example. Or making the arcade machines playable in game.

Interesting that the Scorpius wings can be controlled independent of gear, I only played around with one a little bit when it was available during the free fly.

Pretty funny, I definitely agree on the landing gear, I like to think of the air screen as my que to activate. It's useless in flight put them away!

I see so many people on this channel doing really slow, hesitant landings. I can understand them, but I've never seen anyone actually fly like that myself. Are they really that common?

Puffman's landing made me angry. Not because it was bad, but rather because I had a FAR gentler landing in my friends' one with MILLIONS worth in cargo only for it to explode with what seemed to be ZERO HECKING REASON... Man can you believe Star Citizen is still in alpha? Lmao

1/2 the time i call for landing clearance, Alt+N winds up only registering "N" and gear drops way way too early.
