Back in the seat of the Sabre Raven here in Star Citizen as we watch players takeoff and land at Lorville once more. Due to a duping glitch that allowed players to generate millions of credits on demand. The active player base that normally would frequent the busy ports have been down to a trickle since having all the money you ever need negates the need to make frequent stops to trade or sell refined materials or RMC. But, despite the desolation, we still have some dedicated players coming and going about their business.

I tried various regions at various times of day for my timezone, including the middle of the night. Regardless, it seems that many spaceports are absent of players thanks to the duping bug making any reason for players to grind, or pirates to hunt for targets etc all moot. Luckily, it seems that CIG is working on a fix, but like I mention at the end of the video. It is POSSIBLE that CIG may do a ledger adjustment if not another cash wipe since we have had them do it before. After all, the goal of the wipe was to gather data on how players make money and the glitch seemed to ruin that. Again, no official word from CIG YET, but it could still be possible, we'll have to wait and see how things shake out this coming week. Would you be ok with them doing another cash wipe? A wipe just removes auec so people can't complain too much especially if they use the dupe,

i think people overestimate how many people did the duping. most people dont use exploits so the majority of the playerbase is still useful for the test. A reason it might be more quiet could be end of ILW and that servers are so degraded alot of people take a break for things to recover

Hi! Was just watching this video with my org leader and wanted to share my opinion on a couple matters. One point of contention I have is how cinematic / non cinematic it is to lower your landing gear "too early" on a landing approach. To me personally, I think it's totally fine to have your gear down during the final approach. Kind of like in real life when you see planes land, when they are lined up to the runway or carrier deck their gear is already down. That's just me though. Feels more realistic. I agree with having your gear up early on takeoff though :) The second thing that occurred to me regards subsurface hangars into which you have to descend. I mean just look at all the landings you've observed. From what I've witnessed, over several of your videos, is that players generally land more smoothly into horizontal "front loading" interior hangars and regular landing pads that are flush with (or above) the ground. Subsurface hangers where you have to negotiate a vertical descent is bonkity bonk city. Too me this is less indicative of lack of skill and more indicative of a fundamental design flaw of the hangar itself. Imagine if they made helipads like that irl... how stupid dangerous that would be! I think Star Citizen should take a page from Elite Dangerous and have all these subsurface hangars have elevator pads, where you land on a surface landing pad that descends into the subsurface hangar after you land on it and ONLY if there aren't any parts of your ship that are hanging over the edge. Also I noticed in the key bindings there is now a "Landing camera" key bind that isn't hooked up yet. I wonder how that will work! Anyways, it's fun watching your videos. Thanks!

I made the point about the landing gear the other day and had a bunch of people telling me how wrong I was, despite depictions of planes in movies always having landing gear down on approach. For sure it shouldn't be dropped way outtside of the landing zone, but when close to hangar I have no issue seeing the gear.

Ya finally caught me ... 10/10 silver livery c2 (mam actually) *wink* (I'm just glad you didn't catch my landing just after ... I totally foobarred and bumped the rear) but I digress- I usually come in decoupled and set glide path. You encouraged me to wait until touchdown to bring out gear.

30:48 I can say from my own personal perspective, I lost interest in grinding with the very real chance that there would be a wipe because of the duping issue. I'm actually hoping for a wipe after they fix that issue. Get everything back on track.

they can, and have in the past, selectively wiped people, for the exploit pre iae allowing buying fractions of an SCU then selling a full one.

@@Blah64 yeah i've learned more about it since, all traders had to deal with the exploit to even trade. even with this, they will know who each of those dozens of C2s belonged to. and I believe .1a has been confirmed a hotfix (no wipe) but that may change, we'll see, I'm also curious to see how CIG deals with this. thanks for the call out, legitimately.

I loved my Syulen. Was able to do nice smooth landings AND rotate the ship so that the Door leads directly to the hangar elevators. But the ship elevators killed me too often for me to keep playing it, so now i have a C1 spirit XD

When you see ships just sitting on the pad, the pilot is usually transferring gear to the ship. If you do not request immediate take-off clearance, you run the risk of getting impounded.

That vortex with the debris is exactly what I encountered when trying to lift off in a hornet. It kept violently spinning in all axis and I had to cut power and get it to fall a few times until I was on my gear. After switching MM a couple times I could then lift off

There's a slight chance that I was that Arrow at the beginning! I was in that exact hangar a couple days ago so it depends when you recorded it! Thank god you didn't catch my landing tho cuz I _really_ misjudged the angle. It was a first attempt to use decoupled to land 😅

re duping. 36 hours after 3.23 went live I was back up to 70,000,000 credits. I stayed awake for 36 hours straight grinding RMC runs from pickers to A18. I'd have a C2 cooking at Everus, fly in with a load to A18, store the ship, sell, backspace back to my spawn at everus, call my C2 from A18 to everus, take the C2 I had at everus to pickers, load up then go to A18 to store that ship there and sell, backspaece back to everus, rinse and repeat. Why? Because for the first 48 hours nobody I knew had heard about a duping bug, all we knew was once you sold your cargo you had a ghost cargo that wouldn't let you buy a fresh load, so we found the most efficient work around was to store the ship and claim it at another asop terminal to clear that cargo out. If you think duping is the only way to make hundreds of millions in a day, you don't grind hard enough. I don't care about the coming wipe. Want to know why? Because I'll have a hundred million a day or two after it again anyway, because I don't slack or waste time on box missions. I do what pays and I do it obsessively as only a true hyperfocused adult ADHD gamer can. As do about another dozen or so guys in my org. I don't get how other people exploiting a broken mechanic in an alpha to get play money impacts your gameplay. It doesn't impact mine. I really do not understand, I think people are just being a bit hysterical about it. If anything it's focused the pirates into two spots where they know they're going to get traffic, kills and cargo. The dupers don't care because they're doubling their money every run, they can afford to be pirated 1 time in three and still rinse it, so they won't let getting pirated stop them. You know what I think hurt the player base? the fact the game was not handling the increased freefly player traffic properly, again. When the servers are so thrashed it takes ten minutes for the door pad that opens your hab door to load and another five minutes for it to respond to you having pressed it, a percentage of players are going to get frustrated and log off. Those that stay might stick around for the first crash to desktop or wait five more minutes for a shuttle to show up, but again, that's going to cost some more players. I think, objectively, rationally, that has far more of an impact on player populations than some players cheating to get rich in play money that they're going to lose again soon anyway. Oh and now I'm rich, all I'm doing is low flying, making up racetracks with org mates, chasing known pirates when they show up and escorting traders in my org for free if there's PvP going on around them. I suppose I just enjoy playing the game more than I enjoy talking about how other people play it, I guess. What I can tell you about duping is we have management in our org who are very high level backers, with years of personal relationships with support staff in the game, and a member or two well enough connected to have to start some of the things they say in discord with "I can't say too much because some of this is still covered by NDA, but," Now those guys, they have come down and told us that our org's stance, as directed by talks with CIG staff, regarding duping is (actually let me cut and paste this...) **Re Exploits: During alpha and beta, if we identify an exploit, we must report it to Issue Council. During alpha and beta, we may continue to use an exploit until CIG fixes it, so long as it does not directly grief other players. Once the game is Live (SC full release), we may exploit once and report to CIG, but will not utilise an exploit after we have tested it to report it. Any exploits identified (in SC full release) once reported, will be posted for the org to be aware of, so members can avoid being harmed by it or doing it. If (in SC full release) someone is aware of the exploit, it is already reported and they actively and intentionally use it, then there will be a penalty (to be determined). If they continue to do it, it may result in suspension or expulsion from the org.** Make of that what you will, that's coming from people who have a pretty direct line to developers and customer support staff who have approached them to get a sense of how we, as an org, should proceed. But to me it reads like they know and expect there will be exploitable bugs, and that the focus should be, for us, reporting and documenting them on Spectrum, which is what we've always done anyway because to some of us, this isn't a game we payed to play and feel entitled to have work perfectly all the time, it's a bug infested, work in progress, software alpha we're play testing.

I have had a lot of desynch. One time I thought I dropped my gear but it came up on its own. Another time I raised it and it dropped back down. Once they get a handle on performance it will be better. Oh with the errors and vanishing gear boxes I just stayed working out of A18.

I like salvaging in my vulture which is impossible right now with dupers maxing out supply. Servers are also crashing a lot which abandons missions even if they recover so doing normal missions is also impossible. Ill be back in a few weeks with .2

I don't know how broken scanning is in 3.23.1 but previously you usually had to do it 3 - 5 times to get a chance of seeing any cargo. Concerning pausing outside stations, with the new StarMap it's usually impossible to plot a route to most (if not all) other locations from within the hangar as you get an 'Obstructed' warning. Fly outside and the warning disappears - very annoying cos I like to set the route before opening the doors, then shoot out like I mean it.

can you tell me how? like what exactly happened that made it worse for you to play? because the only negatives for me regarding gameplay have been server performance during free fly, which happens every free fly. I've had to F12 though, global is FULL of people going on and on and on about dupers. it's actually nauseating the amount of tilt there is right now. over what though?

Perhaps one day you'll see me take off and land. i usually fly a Prospector. C1, and C2. Sometimes a Vulture. Currently hobbled by a mangled HOTAS setup... Even with a joystick and keyboard controls I can grind off landing gear like nothing.

Realistically, wouldn't using VTOL in a vacuum be pointless? Since you have no gravitational pull but i guess they do once you get into the hangar. I kinda want VTOL to be a hard requirement to hover in atmosphere to counter the gravity cuz it doesnt make sense how a ship without a lot of upwards thrust working so well hovering lmao

Going to get some hate for this - are vertical bolter takeoffs "cinematic"? They are efficient, but I have never seen a movie where the ship takes off like that Avenger. Personally I wouldn't have them as a 10/10 for cinematic.

Nobody is in game because the servers are a GD mess. Between the new features, locations and all the duping, the “game experience” is absent and it’s just “waiting to see” how long it takes for a bug or crash to ruin the session, which is pretty quick recently. Can’t imagine xenothreat in .1a or the cargo update in .2 patches not making it completely unplayable. May just wait for 4.0

I’ve been selling RMC with my vulture multiple times a day. I’m not sure why you’re having such a huge issue. Just wait 10 minutes and sell. Longest I’ve read to wait was 20 minutes.

TDD's update supply in 10 to 15 minute intervals, all you have to do is wait at a tdd for more than 10 minutes and you can sell. ive literally made like 10 million in vulture RMC salvage over the last week Also unlikely theyw ill wipe cash because the amount of dupers compared to the actual population is tiny. Most people dont exploit.

@@ioritenshi yeh for real. people forgett that supply/demand is shared across all servers so there is a hard limit on how much money can be generated by RMC duping and its not alot. the duping isnt as widespread or big as people think

everyone is avoiding the spaceports because the lag is so bad due to all the duper ships parked everywhere i lost a 400k load of refinery output due to a lag related crash earlier this morning... i'll probably be switching over to PVE bounty work for the time being until the dupe issue is solved. it feels really bad to put in the work and do it right, only to have all your hard work stolen from you at the last moment by a lag spike at the space port... i mean like uninstall the game bad.
