Adam, have you ever considered reacting to music videos? I know a few really excellent Acapella groups any one with proper appreciation for music would enjoy...along with one of the deepest Bass voices you'll ever hear. He doesn't just sing low notes, he makes things vibrate! (Hey now!)😊💙

It's not true. There's chicken fried steak, which is pounded out chicken fillets. There's pork fried steak which is pounded out pork chop that's boneless. Then there's beef fried steak which is not called that but you use beef pounded out. It just depends on what meat you're using. Just pounded out meat and breaded with gravy poured over. Chicken fried steak is chicken, duh. People just say chicken fried steak when it's cooked that way, but really, they're wrong. Hopefully now you understand but with a quick Google search you would know😊

I'm from Colorado and I don't know a single person that's eaten rocky mountain oysters. We were actually told what they were as kids to prevent us from trying them, but that's just my experience. For iconic, I'd say that green chili is more well known. My personal favorite comfort food is either a bacon double cheeseburger or a pizza with pepperoni, bacon, and garlic butter or ranch to dip it in.

I'm in southeast Nebraska and mountain oysters are actually quite popular here. Lots of mountain oyster feeds where they are all you can eat nights...lol Yes I have tried them a couple different times and they are just OK, but nothing special. They are sliced so thin and breaded and deep fried that they just taste the breading. I've seen people dip them in ketchup, but the absolute worst thing I witnessed was an older married couple get a whole piled up plateful of them each, and sat there and picked all the breading off and just eat the meat..lol. reminded me of a vampire or something cuz they were just ravenous going at them 🤣🤣🤢

11:56 Yes, prior to WW1, there were actually a lot of Germans in Russia. My own great grandparents were a German man and his German-Jewish wife, both born and raised in Russia. See, in the 1800's the Russian government noticed they had a bunch of wild land perfect for farming along the German boarder just going unused. They invited landless German farmers to come, tame a chunk and build a farm. They'd then be allowed to lease the land for a yearly percentage of their crops.

Vermonter here, yep, Maple Syrup comes from the sugar maple tree. We tap our trees the old fashioned way (a metal spicket tap, and a metal bucket to catch the sap.) around mid february, depending on the amount of snow around the base of the trees. We gather, we boil in our sugar shack, the longer the boil, the deeper the color and flavor. YUMMM It's the only syrup an Vermonter should ever use. We bring a small travel bottle with us when we travel out of state.

I’m on my last day of my Maine vacation and fresh lobster is everywhere. You can walk down to the docks and watch the lobster boats come in and unload lobsters just pulled from the ocean. You can buy them right there and bring them home, cooked or uncooked, or you can order a steamed lobster dinner to eat there. The other day I went to a traditional clambake where your meal came with a cup of clam chowder, two lobsters, corn on the cob, steamers, a baked potato, a hard boiled egg, a boiled onion (don’t know why), plus homemade blueberry cake. All for $50!! It was delicious but boy, was I full.

They're ham, pulled pork, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. I'm not a fan of pickles but I'll eat them on a Cuban sandwich. So good! But you have to get to "real" parts of town, because the parks have you see, hear, smell, taste, and feel everything they want you to. I think you'd like meeting Floridians. I usually just add some American or Cheddar cheese to it to. Still good and still brings back memories of my teenage year's. I lived in a spot in the road place called Bexar. My boyfriend and I would go to the tiny town with a pop. of 327, a tiny spot in the road town where I went to school. On the state highway going through it, if you blinked, you would miss it. 😂 Anyways, we would go to the only convenience store there and get the Rotel and cheese soup. And get this, we ate it with Ruffles, not tortilla chips. And I still prefer it that way. Lengthy comment, I know. The reason for this is because it is very difficult to cook if you don't know what you're doing. Part of why American's consider it such an important cut and value good brisket so much is because of the difficulty. Its a mark of pride to be able to cook it well.

Can confirm, gumbo tastes amazing when it’s made correctly. It doesn’t matter if it’s chicken and sausage or shrimp and sausage, it’s amazingly good. Crab cakes honestly taste like whatever you put in it. So if you put celery, onions, and crab in it, it’s going to taste like crab, celery, and onions. And if you really wanna mess around and find out, put chili over top of pasta (spaghetti or elbow pasta) it’s something that is huge where I live (Cincinnati, Ohio.) And yes, there is cheese in a proper pepperoni roll. If it doesn’t have cheese in it, it’s not a proper pepperoni roll. The school I taught at in West Virginia serves pepperoni rolls on the last Friday of every month for lunch and I still have dreams of Pepperoni Roll Fridays because they were that good.

Alabama White Sauce is a white barbecue sauce with a mayonnaise base rather than tomato. It's highly addictive and works well with smoked or grilled chicken, fish, and even lean meats like beef or pork loin (by adding a fat/acidic hit). Here's a recipe with some history of where it comes from at the end. You have no idea what you've been missing if you haven't tried this stuff...while runny, it even works as a sandwich condiment. You can copy/paste this to a Word doc or similar: Alabama White Barbecue Sauce ½ cup mayonnaise 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 1½ teaspoons prepared horseradish, drained ½ teaspoon kosher or sea salt ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, optional ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon black pepper 1/8-¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (normal to spicy, I like it spicy) Whisk all the ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Seal the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour for the garlic and spices to mingle. Makes almost ¾ cup of sauce. Makes enough sauce to use alongside a single smoked turkey breast, if cooking two breasts, double the recipe. Also works well with chicken parts (they dip them in the sauce before serving in Alabama). Few people outside the south are aware of a non-tomato based barbecue sauce for use with poultry (or even lean pork or beef). Bob Gibson (of Decatur Alabama) is credited with concocting a white BBQ sauce back in 1925. His restaurant is still open for dining, it’s “Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q”. Here in the south white BBQ sauce is usually referred to as just “white sauce”. Not only can you use it as an all-purpose table sauce but you can marinate with it and use it to baste the meat while cooking (though few places do). It seems that smoking turkey breasts started in Alabama (usually with a simple salt/black pepper/garlic powder/onion powder dry rub) and “white sauce” is usually served on the side rather than poured over the meat. Ingredients for this sauce vary from place to place in the Southern U.S.A., some are as simple as four ingredients: mayonnaise, vinegar, salt, and coarsely ground pepper. Others are a bit more extensive. Some flow like milk, others like thick salad dressing. It all depends on where you go to eat. Once you try white BBQ sauce you’ll be hooked. Not only does “white sauce” go with poultry, consider using it on/with grilled fish, it’s delicious. I like it with a turkey/chicken sandwich. This recipe is inspired by one from Cooks Country magazine (June/July 2016 edition) and one from a local (now closed) BBQ joint, Jack of Hearts. I’ve made a number of personal edits to make it even more flavorful.

Bull balls are fine not great but not terrible. They started being eaten because they could be and food early spring was scarce not long ago. Cows would drop the calves and they needed castrated so it was eat them or be hungry and toss them.

A brief history if Rocky Mountain Oysters. They started out as being the part you tossed but meat production cost went up during the late 1700's and early 1800's with expansion. So, they started saving every part possible in order to sell. However, they may have gotten their name from the fact you only got so much from a bull and it's a low amount, like meat from an oyster. It was also called this to sound better than Bull Balls.

We have a coffee shop in my neighborhood that I'm pretty sure is a mom and pop type coffee place. It's called the Loose Goose. The owner named it after their dog who will run around the place and get plenty of petting from the patrons. They also have a drive thru, and no, the dog isn't allowed around the coffee making areas. You won't get a dog hair in your coffee.

Originally from Virginia and I would say just as well known for peanuts as Smithfield ham which btw is akin to a salt lick. Don't eat it if you have high blood pressure. Also brisket is AMAZING if done properly and bland and tough if done improperly. And NC bbq is also vinegar based and delicious. Really hard to find outside of Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

I'm from Oregon(BTW, Marionberry pie is incredible) and I absolutely agree with you on coffee! Oregonian and Washingtonian "mom and pop" coffee places are the best coffee shops I've ever been to, and I've travelled a lot. Speaking of which, I just visited Montana a few weeks ago I never knew huckleberries were so delicious. I thought maybe their popularity was a gimmicky way to make use of the huckleberries that grow absolutely everywhere, but it's not. They're SO delicious. They kind of taste like a blackberry but look like/have the texture of a blueberry.

Utah and jello is an old thing, but i think the preferred treat is what we call scones, which is basically fried dough. I'm not a Utah resident, but I live in southeast Idaho along the border of Utah. Our town may as well be an extention of Utah state. Anyway, a lot of the local restaurants i go to in Northern Utah have scones listed among the desserts. Every country fair has at least one booth with scones. Someone in the comments mentioned funeral potatoes which is also tasty. But for dessert a simple fried "utah scone" topped with powdered sugar is really delicious.

I have a cousin in Nebraska who I know didn't grow up eating them together but just in the last couple years has started eating them together. I personally don't think they sound good together as a meal. I would eat the chili as the meal and the cinnamon roll either as a dessert or even for breakfast.

"Rocky Mountain Oysters" may be a Colorado "Specialty", but really, in my own personal experience, they are not that commonly eaten. (Though I hear they are supposed to be tasty.) I have family in Colorado - who raise cattle - they have never offered me a testicle, I'm not sure that I know anyone who has actually eaten one, and if I do, I would ask them "How Often". Coloradans: would you answer those 2 questions? 1 - Have you EVER eaten a Rocky Mountain Oyster, and 2 - How many times have you eaten them. (and in what type of setting?)

Maybe he just didn't like the color? IDK overtime I was over there in AL we went crab-trapping and Oyster fishing. Oysters are easy used to catch them with my toes.

The white sauce in the Alabama one probably refers to Alfredo sauce. Raw fish is frozen at such a cold temperature that no bacteria or parasite could still be alive on it. When she said German Russians Im guessing she meant Prussians. Brisket is in between the front legs of a cattle but below the neck.
