Just to let you know how things are big in the US, just the state of Texas is big enough to house three UK's, yes you could put the UK in Texas 3 times! That is how big Texas is and it's not the biggest state. Alaska is the biggest State in the US. The US is huge. A lot of people say Russia is bigger and landwise it is BUT a lot of their land is unusable , its permafrost and things like that. Also they polluted a lot of their land with nuclear accidents over the years. They had a lot of radiations accidents in the uninhabited places in Russia, pretty stupid if you think about it. Russia has less people than the US too. Russia is 143 million people but the US is 333 million people. This is just a few things, read up on the US, you might be surprised. Most Americans take it for granted all the things we have. In 248 years we've worked really hard to build the powerful country we have. Think about it, a small group of Brits went rogue and went against the Crown and built this country! British people should be very proud of America because you folks birthed us in the beginning. You spawned the richest and most powerful country on the planet. Thanks for you guys doing that. Lastly, a lot of Britons and Europeans talk about our homes, the size, the modernity, etc. You have to think of this. America is "The New World", that is literally what the New World Is because Britain, European, Asia, etc, etc is the old world. Think of this, our oldest buildings and things are just over 248 years old. Another thing about America and modernity is that we don't keep old things, like buildings. Sure we keep a few but most are razed after a time and we build "new", see there is that "new world" again! This is why Britain looks so old, you guys don't level shit down and start over the way we do. It's just a whole different paradigm of life and living. You seem like a nice guy and I have ALWAYS loved Britons, I had several who went to Uni with me here in South Carolina. I LOVE my British friends dearly, think of them as my family. Trust me, America has never forgot about Great Britain, yeah we lob insults at each other but we secretly love you guys, almost all Americans would feel that same way. We will always have your back. We hope you always have our back too! Thanks for your video, I'm going to subscribe! Later man! Holler anytime! -Kevin South Carolina, US

6:58 you're right, the land masses of Great Britain and Ireland hold a very diverse set of accents but you also have more than a thousand years worth of time for those accents to develop and differentiate. The United States has been a country for less than 300 years which is a relatively short amount of time for the level of accent diversity present here. This is a phenomenon I don't think is really present in the UK or ireland, but I am of a a population of unknown number of people in the United States who do not have the accent associated with the region they come from. I can almost guarantee you that anyone who grew up in Dublin will speak like a Dubliner and anyone who grew up in Liverpool is going to speak scouse, but I having lived 25 years in Northwest Georgia do not naturally speak with a Southern accent, the only time I ever do it is essentially code switching when I speak to someone above a certain age.

@@tenchraven The EU is way more population dense (109 people/km²) than the United States is (38 people/km²). There are several tightly-packed cities, but there is so much more mostly-empty land out there. Adam, Purchase Power Parity (PPP) means, purchase a bundle of goods & services with $100 in the USA. Now, take $100 and convert it to Yuan and try to buy the same bundle of goods and services in China proportional to the bundle in America. Is the bundle larger or smaller?? In China, it's 20% larger. Why does this happen? Isn't money just money? No, because certain currencies are in more demand around the world than other currencies. The US Dollar is in greatest demand because that's the safest place for the world to invest their money. Why? Well, historically, because we are very well defended, our economy is very strong, we have tons of natural resources, the political system is (supposedly) stable, and we have a lot of powerful allies. So that means, if I want to give somebody in possession of Chinese Yuan some dollars, they will have to give me a ton of Yuan at the global market rate or else I'll give my dollars to somebody else who will. So what this means is that if China's GDP measured in dollars is slightly behind America's GDP, then their GDP PPP will be substantially greater than America's GDP because after you convert their GDP in dollars to Yuan, those Yuan will go much further. What this means in effect is that China is producing more goods & services than USA, but per capita (per person) incomes in terms of PPP will be lower than America because their GDP PPP is being distributed across more than a billion people whereas America's population is less than a third of that.

Not that it matters, just wanted to point out that there are about 8 - 9 million people in NYC. When he says there are 18 million people in new york city, he is actually reffering to the greater new york area, or the tri-state area. Which is actually includes two other states, New Jersey and Connecticut, hence "tri"-state. Still, half of that 18m people are in NYC, which is still a fkton.

Since you asked: you could almost fit 700 Northern Irelands in the US. Not quite, but close. Northern Ireland is about the size of Connecticut (the third-smallest state). There are 11 states larger than the entire UK. Canada is huge, but a lot of it is almost-uninhabitable tundra. The northern three territories alone are as big as the 7 largest countries in Europe combined ... with a combined population that's less than half of the city of Belfast.

There's also some variance based on how exactly you classify expenses. Tens of billions gets allocated annually to the US Army Corps of Engineers to maintain navigable waterways. Some will deduct this amount from the military budget, since it's an infrastructure expense. Is the US Coast Guard military or not? Technically they are, and have served actively in times of war, but most of the duties they perform are of a civilian nature.

Of which a not inconsiderable chunk is veterans benefits. And DARPA funding for pure science research, like how to make sea water drinkable at a sustainable price point. Most of the funding for the Ebola vaccine research is DARPA to, not the CDC. All maintenance of the GPS system is part of that. Property taxes paid to local and state government for military facilities ranging from recruiter's offices to traning ranges bigger than some states. Every time the Air Force flies in disaster relief, the air time, maintance and usually the cargo are all DOD money. So lets not get our ovaries in a bunch, ok?

The 1998 agreement that ended the fighting was, basically that they can vote on this whenever they like. So when Irish Catholic/nationalists get a majority (which recently occurred) their parties will push for a referendum. Reality is it will be an extremely close and contentious vote a la Brexit or Trump/biden which risks sparking renewed violence. If the vote is for a United Ireland, there will still be a large minority in the region bitterly opposed to it who will seek to sabotage it. Mainland British ppl would not be opposed but would be a bad look pulling out amidst civil strife and violence. For this reason many ppl in the republic are apprehensive about it as well. Anyway that’s my mainland British view for what it’s worth.

the U.S. is 3rd largest in land size and 3rd largest in population and 1st in military, 1st in GDP, 1st in technology... and 1st in Freedoms.... (BUT part of having freedoms is the responsibility of your choices... ) Canada is larger than the U.S. in land, but nearly ALL of it is unlivable as 90% of their population is within 200 miles of their southern border since they can't live in the rest of it.... this also means their population is MUCH smaller than the U.S....

We are not first in freedoms. That's simply propaganda. We're first in military spending, largely ahead on technology, but both require materials from our adversaries so that's not really a huge win. We're also first in prison populations. The UK and most of Europe have similar or more freedoms than the US does.

3:45 Remember to keep the map projection in mind. The Earth is a round surface. When you want to model the Earth's surface as a flat map, you have to decide how you're going to "convert" from a curved surface to a flat surface. The usual method of projection makes things near the Equator look normal, but things near the poles look grossly oversized. Canada is indeed bigger in area than the US, but Greenland isn't nearly as big as it looks on that map. Look at a globe!

According to Google: Northern Ireland is 5,456 Sq Miles USA is 3,809,525 Sq Miles That means 698.227 Northern Irelands could fit inside of the United States The video however said that the United States is 5,680,000 Sq Miles. I cannot find anywhere online to support that number, but assuming they are correct then you could fit 1041.06 Northern Irelands in the USA.

As an American, I don’t get what’s so hard about the size of the US to understand. Just look at a map or a globe. The US is clearly about the same size as Europe, though I think the math says Europe is about 5% larger. Yet people from over the pond come to somewhere like NYC and think they can hop over to Nashville for lunch or drive to Miami in three hours. Come on!

How many Irelands fit in the USA? How big is Ireland? US & European Countries Size Comparison Ireland may seem large in terms of influence, but when it comes to land area it is much smaller than the US. In fact, the United States is around 140 times bigger than Ireland. That really puts the country's size into perspective.Nov 15, 2023

Canada is larger, but it's meager 39 million population is mostly in the lower 1/8th of the country. "Most" of Canada is like "most" of Russia, uninhabitable. ... as compared to 334 million citizens, 48 million immigrants, and 18 million illegals (400 million give or take a few) that live pretty evenly distributed once you take cities out of the equation. (The data used in the video was the 2018 census data, way out of date. Especially for illegals, we've gotten at least 11 million in two years based on Border Patrol reports.) BTW, the current average health care cost is $13.5k per person in the USA, so that would be $5.4 TRILLION a year, or stated another way, 86% of the government's entire budget. (answering a previous videos question on why we do it the way we do.) If you want to see how bad the system other countries use would "work" here, you just have to look at the VA. (Veteran's Administration) There are 9.2 million vets treated by them annually. Many people die waiting on treatment there, the bureaucracy is just too large to be effective. People, normal citizens who pay attention, know this and that's why we fight going to that type of system.

With 330M people, as of whenever this video was made, that would mean anywhere from 1 to 13.2 billion human farts. You're welcome. Just don't ask about pets, wildlife, or livestock. Canada is larger than the US but has less residents in their entire country than California has on its own. As for farts, I don’t know about humans, but living in Central California where there are 3 cows per every 1 human, the amount of cow methane is INSANE!! We literally RUN to get inside our cars/homes/jobs during the winter months (especially if it’s foggy) just so we don’t have to smell the air outside. FYI, I live in a city with just under 100k residents, but I’m also sandwiched between 2 major cities with over 1 million residents each, as well as a ton of smaller cities sprinkled along the way & yet, we somehow still have more cows than people!!
