I had some strange experiences eating pizza in China. One time, I went to Pizza Hut with my friends. The menu had a lot of crazy toppings, but I just wanted a normal cheese pizza. For some reason though, it wasn't on the menu. When I asked the waiter why they didn't have cheese pizzas, he looked at me like I was an idiot and said, "All of the pizzas have cheese on them." I then had to explain what a cheese pizza was. At Pizza Hut. It was kind of awkward. Also, durian is a very popular topping over there. I was actually surprised that I didn't see it show up in this video.

So I use to spend my summers in Vietnam with my Grandfather and other relatives, I remember literally seeing the globalization of Saigon before my eyes. When Pizzahut first came to Saigon I remember it being considered a fancier place to go. But the thing I remember the most is the absence of tomato sauce!! It was really weird for kids who are use to American pizza to not have any so we asked for some and they gave us Ketchup to eat it with. Nowadays when i'm back in Saigon, I don't normally eat fast food chain pizza so I didn't know they still in large part omitted the tomato sauce. You should try the chains Basta Hiro or Pizza 4P though! they are pricier but they are delicious pizzas and pastas!

Fun fact: In Indonesia, some of the Pizza Hut menus are basically overpriced things we can buy them at frozen food stores or segment. They’re using Fiesta (by Pokphand) as one of their ingredient suppliers List of the menus using Fiesta: - Chicken Wings (Fiesta Spicy Wings) - Spaghetti Oriental Chicken (Fiesta Fried Chicken) - Chicken Rice (Fiesta Schnitzel) - Any pizza toppings with chicken topping (Fiesta Stikie) And some of the pastas are easy to make at home, since the recipes are pretty simple. OMG ! I stayed in Hong Kong in the 90s,for 3 months and got home sick for pizza. Went to Pizza hut and they didn't even have pepperoni . So I finally settled on a pineapple and candian Bacon. When it arrived it was there like piece s of cheese that you could barely see and the Canadian bacon was salami. The sauce tasted like sugary ketchup. Was horrible! Also is cost $30 us dollars in the 90s.

When I worked at a restaurant I made the best pizza with eggs ever. I made a breakfast pizza. First after forming the dough and instead of sauce, I used whisked eggs. After that I added thin slices of sausage, added small amounts of Mozz. cheese, and then sprinkled it with undercooked bacon pieces. It came out perfect and I drizzled syrup on it which made it even greater.

Omg. I can so relate. When my husband and I was in Cambodia, his Aunt gave us some pizza, that had unusual ingredients we normally don’t have in the US (or at least in California where I am.) Mine had imitation crab meat, hotdog link, and pieces of pineapple. No marinara sauce at all LOL I was so weirded out, yet I then missed home when I smelled the bell peppers on it too, because I was thinking about, “supreme pizza” from back home. 😞😂

Tomato paste should be a default part of a pizza, may be every where. But in Viet Nam it is an option :))

@@hanzoe9199 No, in Vietnam, any pizza order has chili and tomato sauce pockets come along as extra, he somehow miss all of them! My company usually oder those pizza companies in Vietnam and always have sauce pockets with pizzas.
