when i was 17 i worked at chipotle for a bit and after a few times i got tired of my lunchbreak burrito being all sloppy, i legit asked if i could do my own and they were trying to correct me once they saw how i roll burritos but ended up being impressed w how mine came out. Chipotle just teaches an odd method to roll burritos. I even threw mine on grill to give it that nice crisp texture. How they gonna tell a mexican how to roll a burrito the right way lol

Like eating a teaspoon packet of sugar during a marathon so you dont die while they feed you only water. Because by that stage your survival has nothing to do with stamina. But how much energy you have on hand stored around your body and how quickly you can access it. Nothing works better then sugar and i will take you to court on that any day provided you agree the end result is not death and sugar is considered sucrose lactose galactose fructose high fructose corn syrup and all the variations like raw sugar or unprocessed sugar. Electrolytes is a gray area. I can smear my lips with concentrates strong enough to kill several men but keep me going for a week with only careful management and water. Thats why rules and limitations were invented. So the match was based on skill ability and determination. You try so hard you can die. Tacos and burritos are so simple, but they always look so appetizing. The super monster burrito looks really good right now. Breakfast tacos are one of my favorite breakfast meals

The corn vs flour tortilla argument. To me, it's about the filling. If it's sort of bland, you have to go flour, because otherwise corn will overpower the taste. But if it's bold flavors, you gotta go corn.

ACTUALLY, the corn vs flour argument has to do with WHEN you eat the tortilla. Ethan Chlebowski made a good video explaining how corn tortillas dehydrate very quickly over time, which makes them very unpalatable. Most people get their tortillas in grocery stores, and they have to put additives in the corn tortillas to keep them supple. Flour tortillas on the other hand stay soft when cool for the same reason that sliced bread does. Beyond that, Americans tend to prefer flour cuz Northern Mexicans tend to prefer flour. There are WAY more North Mexican immigrants in the US influencing American cuisine.

I will now have to look for demographics into that. P.S. Even though I'm a chilango, both my parents are from northern Mexico so I do prefer flower tortilla, specially if it resembles the one my grandma used to make when I visited as a 6-8yr old kid✌️

@@nahor88 Thanks for sharing. I just came up with a couple of studies, though they use 2005 census data... They break it down by origin and destination. It talks a little on how it evolved through time. Border states seems used to account up to 30% of mexican migration, though it declined to 20% by early 2000s. Central West Mexico was the highest accounting for up to 50%, from states such as Michoacán, Oaxaca, Jalisco, Nayarit, Guanajuato, Puebla, and a little bit northern, though not border, as Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí. No doubt there has been shifts since then. What also changed through time is where these immigrants go, as, even though it may not seem, they are going deeper into the US. Anyway, hope you get good flour and corn tortillas up there, harder to do so myself all the way down here at Santiago de Chile. Saludos!

There is a place in Squamish BC , an hour from Vancouver BC (enroute to Whistler), located behind the Shell gas station on Highway 99 North, called Sunny Chibas fried chicken Mexican cantina. They have a 2.5 pound burrito (in 1 tortilla), that is OUT OF SIGHT. I can eat one to myself (although not in 15 mins). Aaron Lawton & Diana Fredrickson are the owners, and the food they create is nothing short of amazing, more than just the burritos & fried chicken.. The Chicken is free range, and it is amazing too.
